Introduction

These quests require level 10 and at least 1 point of fishing skill to accept. All should be possible to complete with such low skill. 75 fishing skill will allow all these daily quests to be completed without catching junk.

Only one Old Azeroth daily fishing quest can be completed each day: You may only complete one fishing daily each day from either Darnassus, Ironforge or Stormwind.

All the Azeroth daily fishing quests reward a Bag of Shiny Things, 250 reputation, and some fishing skill: Most quests earn 1 point of fishing skill. A Slippery Snack (Darnassus) and Diggin' For Worms (Stormwind) earn 2 skill points. The bag contains items worth a few Silver, gear such as Bright Baubles, and junk or novelty items. Rare items include:

Completing all 5 quests in each city rewards a "Fish or Cut Bait" achievement for the relevant city. Completing all 3 Fish or Cut Bait achievements (all 15 daily quests) rewards the achievement Gone Fishin'.

Quest fish not biting?
  1. Check the bobber is landing in the named water. For example, Hardened Walleye can only be caught from water named "Stormwind Lake". Catch is determined by the location of the bobber, not the location of the angler.
  2. Check you are not in a raid group. Quest fish cannot be caught while in a raiding party.

Darnassus

Darnassus daily fishing quests start from Astaia, stood by the water in the center of Darnassus. 1 out of a possible 5 is available each day.

Happy as a Clam Digger

Teldrassil Clam
Teldrassil Clam
  • What to loot: 10 Teldrassil Clams.
  • Where to loot it: Loot from clams found on the seabed around Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil.

Teldrassil Clam are looted from objects on the seabed, not caught using fishing. Rut'theran Village is the port where ships from Stormwind dock.

An Old Favorite

Kaldorei Herring

  • Where to catch it: Rut'theran Village, Teldrassil.
  • Skill required: 25 to fish without catching junk.

The quest text refers to waters "around Teldrassil", but only the waters around Rut'theran Village contain coastal fish, including Kaldorei Herring.

The Sister's Pendant

Ironforge daily fishing quests start from Grimnur Stonebrand, in The Forlorn Cavern. 1 out of a possible 5 is available each day.

  • Where to catch it: Ironforge (The Forlorn Cavern).
  • Skill required: 75 to fish without catching junk.

The loving way in which Squirky recieves the fish makes this quest worthwhile. Although I'm not sure why Squirky doesn't use its own fishing pole.

  • Skill required: Fishing skill not used.

This quest must be completed un-mounted: Crayfish Catch cannot be gained while riding a mount. Mounting to ride or fly to Cook Ghilm will cause the Crayfish to fall off. Crayfish like to travel slowly.

Helm's Bed Lake is on the east side of Dun Morogh.

Comments about Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests (Alliance)

Below are readers' comments about "Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests (Alliance)":

New Dailies

  1. Thay, April 2011:

    From the latest PTR notes:

•New Cooking and Fishing Dailies have been added to Darnassus, Ironforge, Thunder Bluff, and Undercity.

Anyone know if these are just copies of the SW ones (with locations slightly altered) or completly new.

Also can you do only 1 or will this let you do 3 a day?

Hopefully they may increase the prize pool from the dailies a little as well

  2. el, April 2011:

The PTR is currently still down, so nothing is known yet. The first Undercity quest (which was in the last PTR build) was very basic: A simple fish catch from open water, and delivery to the other side of the city. The reward was unchanged from the Stormwind/Orgrimmar dailies.

  3. el, April 2011:

You can still only do *one* Azeroth fishing daily per day. For example, Alliance pick either Stormwind, Ironforge or Darnassus. Once you complete one of the dailies, the other quests can't be taken.

  1. el, April 2011:

There are now details of the quests that have appeared so far on Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests (Alliance) and Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests (Horde). Hopefully more quests will appear when the new day starts on the PTRs - I'm sure plenty are still missing. Fortunately gnomes don't need sleep.

  2. Nadal, April 2011:

At least they're giving us the choice to use major faction capitals (Orgrimmar and Stormwind) or not, to do the daily quests. I just hope Silvermoon and Exodar will have the same treatment. It would be nice to see that Blizzard hasn't given up these capitals.

Thanks for the update, a pity, but expected as it was unlikely they'ed force us to visit all 3 cities.

Still unless they up the rewards people will stop doing them at 85.
Once you have maxed fishing there seems to be little gained from doing the dailies.

  4. NiceBloke, April 2011:

Are there achievements for the new fishing dalies?

  5. el, April 2011:

    No achievements... yet.

  6. EIlhan, July 2011:

I just flew past Stormwind Harbor, and noticed that the Bluetip Thresher there is now a level 15 beast, down from level 85. Some good news for lowbies who are on the Rock Lobster quest :)

  7. Jimbra, April 2012:

At low level, these quests are good for extra XP and skill points for leveling up. And even after one reaches max Fishing and max level, they are still good for rep building and leveling up your guild. So if you have a few minutes to spare, they are still worthwhile even when maxed out. This advice also applies to the Cooking daily quests.
