Jewel of the Sewers

Whats the deal with this fishing daily? Its been however long since 3.1 came out, I've done the daily everyday, and its never come up......just bad luck?

  2. rakoth, April 2009:

Just bad luck. On my server I've now done all the quests and gotten the achievement - for me Blood is Thicker is the one that took a while to pop up.

  3. SlugSalter, April 2009:

It's Dangerously Delicious I haven't had yet. I've not been to Wintergrasp yet and I'm not looking forward to it.

    I don't blame ya.

I did it once for the achievment, thankfully without incident.
Hopefully Blizzard will quit pushing reluctant fishers into PVP in future achievements.

  2. donquixote235, April 2009:

My experience with this quest is that the only place that drops it is the part of the sewer by the inn. I cast over 150 throws one day with no luck in various other parts, and got it on the fourth catch by the inn. Since then I've done the quest probably a half-dozen times, and always with quick success around the inn (and no success elsewhere).

  3. Cozmic, April 2009:

I think it took about 8 days before the Monsterbelly daily came up on my server which was the last one to complete. Just bad luck as a server I guess. Did you do the very first day when the server was up late? It may have been that days.

Also I have also noticed for the Jewel of the Sewers daily that there is a higher catch rate off the docks vs the area by the arena guys. I caught about 20 fish before I went to the docks catching the jewel in less than 5.

  4. InfectedZombie, April 2009:

For me it has been the terror fish one. I got it once then it said I was not eligible and then it let me get another one I had already done. Then the next day it gave me a different one than everyone else got. No mistake on my part just a bug I guess. i have had great luck for the jewel of the sewers near the inn as well, always within 10 casts.

  5. Trann, April 2009:

Monsterbelly has been the daily for what seems like a week. I hate having to fly out to frozen sea every day.

That, and manalicious has been the shat cooking daily for 5 straight days. -_-

Maybe, but it's been the same on my server. I've never gotten that one either. (I've gotten the strand crawler and the fishing line in the last week though).

  7. Antonine, April 2009:

It took 6 days to get the achievement on my server, since then we've had the jewel quest every single day. it just depends... I think a blue mentioned trying to make random dailies slightly less random.

  8. Zarkano, April 2009:

Have done the Dalaran fishing dailies every day since start but have yet to see the Jewel quest. /sigh

  9. leifs, April 2009:

On Alleria I have never seen the daily fishing quest Blood is Thicker.

I have easily completed the WG quest, on 2 80's and a 74. There are a few tricks. One is to wait until your faction is attacking so you can take the portal from Dal. It puts Horde at a nice spot in WG with bodies of water just a few steps from the flight path and graveyard.

Make sure to get the flight path. That way you can risk death and fly in any time to fish.

I have a couple of other out of the way locations in WG where I can fly in and fish. So far, I have never been ganked but eventually Alliance will come looking in all the obscure WG locations for folks fishing.

My 74 can easily complete the quest in Scholazar.

My 70 with fishing skill about 170 can complete the Dal sewers quest with no problems. I get 4 toons to easily complete that daily fishing quest. I always fish from the docks or the rowboat by the Cantrips & Crows.

  10. SlugSalter, April 2009:

I finally got Dangerously Delicious today but I can't do it. I've never been to Wintergrasp so I don't have the flightpath, I can't learn to fly in Northrend for another 2 levels and there's a bug with the portal from Dalaran which means that the portal never shows up despite the Battle-Mage saying that it's there and I can use it. Gutted.

  11. leifs, April 2009:

the WG portal does show up. However, it may only show up prior to the start of WG.

WG is every 2 1/2 hours. So when the timer messages appear in Dal prior to the start of WG, go see if the portal is up. My experience is that this is when it is up.

  12. SlugSalter, April 2009:

Oh I know that, but it is an actual bug or the Darkmoon Faire realm. Apparently it's been like it for about a week. I did ask about and a few people were complaining about it.

  13. Marlburo, April 2009:

    thanks for the info guys!

I personally love to PVP, BUT for the days I'm not in the mood... there is a ledge almost directly west of the Wrathgate. If you fly West and then get dismounted there is a lake there. Almost nobody hangs out there. A quick way to grab your Terrorfish and not be ganked.

Best of luck to you and I hope that may help some.

My best suggestion for that would be to find a warlock (hopefully guildies) who may actually want to get in on WG action, but will be willing to summon you there.

I noticed that on my realm server too the last time I tried to get into WG between battles. I hope it's considered a bug and they fix it (faster than the pet cower always on autocast bug).

I finally got Jewel of the Sewers early this morning (yesterday's daily). Now I have "Chasing Marcia" W00t!

Fishing Dailies.Jewel of The Sewer.

  1. Dalgul, May 2009:

Hi first time poster long time reader.Just wondering remeber you could only get a croc pet from crocs in the city.Well i'am just wonderong does this apply to jewel of the sewer getting jeweledfishing pole or is it just random.Any one out there remeber which daily you got your pole from?

  2. Thalen, May 2009:

The way I read it, the reason that the pets could only be caught from the crocs daily in Shat was because the reward is actually a different item for that quest (same name and all, but different item number). The pet was only in the loot table for the special crocs item.

The Shat daily rewards all have the same item number, so they would all share the same loot table.

Now, I haven't personally verified this, so it's second-hand information, but I'm pretty sure it was mentioned here, so I'd tend to believe it.

  3. SlugSalter, May 2009:

I got the Jewelled Fishing Pole from the Ghostfish daily lastnight. Thankfully I'll never have to use the silly looking thing!

  4. el, May 2009:

As Thalen says. Bornakk confirmed that all the Northrend dailies have the same loot.

Giant Sewer Rat Glitch?

  1. Shircon, August 2009:

i was just doing the Jewel of the Sewer dailey and i caught 2 giant sewer rat pets and the guy next to me got his achievement for it as well,i believe he was also doing the dailey.Anybody else have an increased drop rate for it during the dailey since the patch?
When i caught mine the first time it took over 1700 catches and i just saw 3 in about 12 to 15 this time...

  2. Shircon, August 2009:

    SIGH....nobody read my post...

  3. Rokdar, August 2009:

I've gotten my rat a while ago, and it took me around 500-700 casts. I haven't noticed any change with the drop rate during Jewel In the sewers, I think it's just a coincidence. A friend of mine, in my guild, has gotten like 4 rats on the same character. Some people are just incredibly lucky while some are terribly unlucky. I'm at around 1000 casts for the turtle and nothing =<

    //Rokdar

  4. Shircon, August 2009:

    i guess i was just lucky then....maybe...lol.
Im not even gonna start about the turtle again....stopped counting a long time ago.
