Comments about Darkshore
Below are readers' comments about "Darkshore":
Fishing on the coast of Darkshore?
Kylkiluut, February 2008:
Has anyone else had problems with the pools north of Auberdine? They all seem too close to the shore and in very shallow water.
I can't seem to fish any except a very few.
DarvenTHO, February 2008:
I had this problem as well but the one that I found was south of Auberdine. I had heard that some pools around the area were extremely close to the shore. I tried standing in the water a ways from the pool and casting into it, but to no avail. There's my 2 cents...:)
Torgon, February 2008:
The pool spawn areas in Darkshore are very poorly placed, so that sometimes you only get half to a quarter of the pool, and if you are not standing at the right angle (sometimes standing on rocks in the water) you will not be able to hit the pools.
I once submitted a ticket on this and the GM responding said that Darkshore has "unusually low tides". I thought that was rather humorous.
Fishing in Shatterspear Village
stormbear, September 2009:
One of the things on my Cataclysm bucket list is to visit and fish in Shatterspear Village. I never knew it existed until I looked down about a month ago while flying from Auberdine to Moonglade and far below - there was the village.
Let me tell ya, getting to the village is a huge pain and requires some slow fall method.
But the cool thing is the water is fishable!

Actually, according to BlizzCon, Cata will destroy Aberdine (The quest hub town is getting moved further north).
There is also additional information saying that Shatterspear Village will be fully accessible in Cata.
If you look at the Cata stuff you can see a pic of the village with an Ancient Protector nearby. There's also a rumor/speculation around saying those trolls will be the ones to teach the horde trolls how to be Druids.
Didn't know you could still get there though. Thought they had turned all those type of places into a no-go zone (where you get ported out of)

ThayWell crap... oh well, at least I got to fish in peace without the Horde coming in for training. Still it was fun trying to figure out how to get there.
I didn't know it was a no-go zone. I didn't run into any invisible barriers... just very tall cliffs.....
Staat's Fishing Pole
Snafu, December 2010:
This pole is a quest reward from "A Taste for Grouper" given by Johnathan Staats in Darkshore. It's been reported that a requirement to get this quest is to have first completed the quest "The Last Wave of Survivors". That appears to be inaccurate. I completed that quest, but the "A Taste for Grouper" quest wasn't available until I'd also completed "Threat from the Water", given by the NPC Ranger Glynda Nal'shea. It could be that both are required, or that "Threat" is the one that enables the "Taste" quest. Whatever the situation is, all of the quest givers are within close proximity to each other, and the quests are simple.
el, December 2010:
Thanks. I thought I'd checked this, but since both quests logically occur together (you practically walk through one set of quest mobs to reach the other set), I might have handed both in together.
Update: Just checked both combinations, and Stats doesn't offer anything until both introductory quests have been completed.
