Stormwind fishing dailies in Cata (screens)

Thanks. It will be great to see the others, if you get a chance to complete them. Especially a confirmation on whether Diggin' For Worms uses fishing. I assume Rock Lobster does not use fishing.

I'm also wondering if the reward is a "placeholder", or whether the contents now scale down to lower levels. Wowhead suggests minimum level 10 for the quests.

  2. Hoddie, July 2010:

Just ran a level 10 rogue to quest giver (Catherine Leland <Fishing Supplies>) and she didn't offer the quests, but then I remembered that I hadn't learned fishing on this alt. I selected Diggin' For Worms and then the world server went down. Will post something more when it's back up.

    Diggin' For Worms

The earthworms are looted from objects around the lake, these are present but they don't have any image yet, just the normal sparkles showing where they are (edit: maybe that's intentional?).

The worms act like special bait and you have to fish for the quest item.

The quest reward must be a placeholder as it's the normal Dalaran fishing daily reward. I received 9g32s87c, a Northsea Pearl and a Porcelain Bell - not bad for level 10!

I made 22 skill points fishing for this quest item, catching mostly junk. The quest item came with the second non-junk loot.

She doesn't offer them to my level 8 alt, though does display the grey ! to show a quest will be available soon.

    Thanks for this preview, Hoddie.

Okay I gave Rock Lobster a try today. Works just as it says on the tin... only there are level 85 sharks prowling around the docks. So the current level limit on this quest appears to be lower than it will be in live, probably in order to encourage testing.

Well so far Ive done Rock Lobster , Big Gulp , and Hiting a Walleye ..

Rock Lobster was made every easy with the Hook of the Master Angler , and Hiting the Walleye was pretty simple to ... The Big Gulp took me some time to get the Locket from the fish though .

So far i like them all , my only problem is the lack of new loot items as rewards ?
After i finish all 5 quest there will be very little reason to do them over and over .. Would be nice if they bothered to add something new !! Some new fishing gear and another pet or something to make it worth doing multiple times ?

Do they plan on adding new items on the 7th , or did they just take the lazy way out and only put one BC loot item and one WOLK item ... if thats the case id say im VERY bummed as i looked forward to the new Dailys !!!

On a Random note Elixir of Water Walking is lasting 20 minutes for me now since 4.0.3 =)

I can do these quests just fine with 450 fishing, so I guess that part is fixed.

That said, I think that either I got REALLY lucky, or the reward selection and/or probability for these quests is different from the Dalaran fishing quests. I have done the Dalaran quests for two months straight without getting anything special from them, but in the few days since the Azeroth fishing quests went live, I have gotten both the Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat and the Strand Crawler mini-pet from the fishing quests in Stormwind. More research is needed in this area, I think.

No, I did these quests on Earthen Ring.
