- Azshara - Goblins invade Azshara - formerly one of Azeroth's favorite fishing spots - constructing Bilgewater Harbor in the middle of the Bay of Storms. Azshara's waters still contain areas that are unchanged since the Cataclysm, alongside areas that have been adjusted for the lower-level of the Cataclysm zone.
- Badlands - First fish caught.
- The Barrens - Zone split into Northern Barrens and Southern Barrens.
- Blasted Lands - First fish caught.
- Burning Steppes - All fishable areas now contain lava catches, even water in The Skull Warren. Thanks Moth.
- The Cape of Stranglethorn - Zone created from the southern part of Stranglethorn Vale. Jaguero Isle remains in a higher zone-group (see Gazetteer), but now with the same no-junk skill as the rest of the zone.
- Dalaran - All Alchemy vial catches replaced by Crystal Vial.
- Darkshore - Elven port of Auberdine reduced to ruins, while seawater flows inland to a huge inland Vortex. Most inland water is seawater, so contains coastal fish. New pools.
- Desolace - New inland water in the Cenarion Wildlands, the green heartland of Desolace. New inland pools.
- Dire Maul - First catch reported (but Dire Maul might have contained fish before the Cataclysm).
- Dun Morogh - Coastal waters contain inland fish.
- Durotar - South-west Durotar flooded. New Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests.
- Duskwood - New pools along river.
- Eastern Plaguelands - Becomes part of zone group 5 (see Gazetteer). Named coastal water contains coastal fish. New inland pools.
- Elwynn Forest - Coastal waters (north of Stormwind) contain inland fish. New Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests. Infamous 'School of Fish' disappears.
- Feralas - Main areas of zone become zone group 4 (see Gazetteer). Jademir Lake and Verdantis River remain unchanged (groups 6 and 5 respectively). Feralas gains an eastern coastline at New Thalanaar. New inland pools.
- Hillsbrad Foothills - Hillsbrad Foothills includes former Alterac Mountains zone.
- The Hinterlands - Becomes part of zone group 4 (see Gazetteer). Gains new pools.
- Loch Modan - Dwarven dam breeched, emptying most of the water from Loch Modan.
- Moonglade - New pools.
- Mulgore - New lake on the Red Cloud Mesa (the Tauren starting area).
- Northern Barrens - Zone created from the northern part of The Barrens. New pools in The Sludge Fen.
- Northern Stranglethorn - Zone created from the northern part of Stranglethorn Vale and Zul'Gurub. Becomes part of zone group 3 (see Gazetteer), except the South Seas, which are in group 5. Coastal Schooner Wreckage Pool replaces Waterlogged Wreckage.
- Orgrimmar - Both original lakes increased in size, with a new lake by the Tauren enclave (where Thrall's old throne room stood). New Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests. Bug: At low fishing skill, fish may "get away" in the Goblin Slums.
- Redridge Mountains - New inland pools. Coastal waters (far east) contain inland fish.
- Searing Gorge - First catch recorded.
- Southern Barrens - Zone created from the southern part of The Barrens. Becomes part of zone group 4 (see Gazetteer).
- Stonetalon Mountains - New water at the Ruins of Eldre'thar (south of Sun Rock Retreat). Lava flows out of the Charred Vale sea, giving the zone a coastline. Oill Spills disappear. More Sagefish Schools.
- Stormwind City - Several new lakes at the northern end of the canal system. New Azeroth Daily Fishing Quests. Harbor reverts to inland fish.
- Stranglethorn Vale - Zone split into The Cape of Stranglethorn and Northern Stranglethorn.
- Swamp of Sorrows - Becomes part of zone group 6 (see Gazetteer). Inland water becomes coastal (or is too shallow to fish). New coastal pools.
- Tanaris - Gadgetzan became a coastal port. Non-instanced Zul'Farrak contains inland fish.
- Thousand Needles - Completely flooded with sea water. Becomes part of zone group 5 (see Gazetteer). New coastal pools.
- Un'Goro Crater - Becomes part of zone group 6 (see Gazetteer). New pools.
- Western Plaguelands - Becomes part of zone group 4 (see Gazetteer). Gains new pools.
- Westfall - New pools along border with Duskwood.
- Wetlands - New inland pools.
- Zul'Gurub - Becomes part of Northern Stranglethorn. No longer a raid dungeon. Nat Pagle/Gahz'ranka quests removed.
