Kun-Lai Summit (Inland Except Sha-Touched South)
- Open Water Skill: 750 to fish open water without excess Golden Carp. In Pandaria, excess Golden Carp replace junk catches: Below 750 skill, a higher proportion of Golden Carp will be caught than shown in tables below. Pools can be fished effectively with skill 1.
- Notes: Travel to Kun-Lai Summit overland by climbing the Path of a Hundred Steps from the north-east edge of Valley of the Four Winds, then travelling through the tunnel in The Veiled Stair. The waters of Kun-Lai Summit are divided into 3 different areas - inland, inland Sha-Touched, and coastal. This group, inland non-Sha-touched, includes all inland waters in the north of Kun-Lai Summit (including Shado-Pan Monastery, Peak of Serenity, Temple of the White Tiger, and Zouchin Village and Provence), plus Binan Village and Kun-Lai Pass in the far south-east. The Peak of Serenity is Sanctuary, where the waring factions cannot attack one another. Non-Sha Touched inland Fish of the Day migrations may occur at Master Snowdrift's Pagoda - the circular lake on the north side of Shado-Pan Monastery.
- History: Mists of Pandaria: First fish caught.

Kun-Lai Summit (Coastal)
- Open Water Skill: 700 to fish open water without excess Golden Carp. In Pandaria, excess Golden Carp replace junk catches: Below 700 skill, a higher proportion of Golden Carp will be caught than shown in tables below. Pools can be fished effectively with skill 1.
- Notes: The most accessible areas of coast are found around Zouchin Province, in the north-east of the zone. Travel there via a tunnel (just north-west of the Temple of the White Tiger) and then hot air balloon down to Zouchin Village.
- Commentary: Kun-Lai Summit's north coast includes several island fishing huts. Ideal for some quiet fishing, away from the bustle of the southern zones. Only one hut is occupied - by a Tuskarr and a Carpenter: Everything's got a moral, if only you can find it.

Kun-Lai Summit (Sha-Touched South)
- Open Water Skill: 625 to fish open water without excess Golden Carp. In Pandaria, excess Golden Carp replace junk catches: Below 625 skill, a higher proportion of Golden Carp will be caught than shown in tables below. Pools can be fished effectively with skill 1.
- Notes: Includes most inland water in the south of Kun-Lai Summit: Firebough Nook (small lake in the south-west corner of the zone) and Inkgill Mere (large lake in the south-east of the zone), including Inkgill Ritual island. This group does not include Binan Village and Kun-Lai Pass, which have the same fish as northern (Sha-Untouched) inland areas. Desecrated Carcass and Scoured Fishbones are junk-quality items that may be caught when your skill is high enough to avoid junk. Catching these does not automatically mean your skill is too low. Sha-Touched Fish of the Day migrations may occur at Binan Village Coast - in the southern half of Inkgill Mere.
- Commentary: Something has been eating the other fish!

Comments about Kun-Lai Summit
Below are readers' comments about "Kun-Lai Summit":
Problems fishing in Sha-Touched Inkgill Mere
Amnon, October 2012:
So my fishing skill is maxed at 600, I'm wearing Nat Pagle's Extreme Anglin' Boots for +5, Weather-Beaten Fishing hat for +5, +5 Fishing enchant on my gloves, Arcanite Fishing Pole with line enchant for +45, and a Glow Worm for +100.
I should therefore be fishing with a skill of 760.
My profession window shows my fishing at 600 +150 for 750.
I'm fishing in Inkgill Mere and getting grey junk catches probably 55% of the time.
That doesn't seem right at all. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm going to go try some other Sha-Touched waters and see what happens.
Amnon, October 2012:
Fared about the same at Firebough Nook. Seems like roughly 50% junk catches.
Hibiscus042, October 2012:
"Sha-touched areas of water contain entirely different catches. All inland waters in the Dread Wastes are Sha-touched. Some of the southern inland waters of Kun-Lai Summit are also Sha-touched - Firebough Nook and Inkgill Mere (including Inkgill Ritual island). Sha-touched waters are also found in The Widow's Wail cave in The Jade Forest. Based on a sample of 1316 catches:
Scoured Fishbones (40%)
Spinefish (26%)
Golden Carp (20%)
Desecrated Carcass (10%)
Sealed Crate (Pandaria) (2%)
Spinefish Alpha (2%)
Scoured Fishbones and Desecrated Carcass are junk-quality, but will be caught when your skill is high enough to avoid junk. Catching them does not automatically mean your skill is too low."
Amnon, October 2012:
Ohhhhh... I misread it. Thanks!
Stone, October 2012:
A powerful force called Sha has taken possession of areas of Pandaria!
We are in search of the elusive, Spinefish Alpha.
YOUR MISSION: (Should you choose to accept it), Is to sort through the bones and carcass of the "Sha-Touched" fish who were once healthy and valuable, and seek out the rogue Spinefish Alpha, as he will not be found amongst the schools, which have survived the Sha...thus far. Find the fish and deliver it to our trusted advisor, Nat Pagle.
Tiger Gourami
donquixote235, October 2012:
I recently discovered that intrepid monk anglers can start farming Tiger Gourami as low as level 20.
At lvl 20 they will receive the spell Zen Pilgrimage, which takes them to the Peak of Serenity in Kun Lai Summit. On the peak are two pools of water, which can spawn nodes of Tiger Gourami. There is also a fishing trainer nearby.
It's technically possible to train your fishing skill from 1 to 600 at lvl 20 entirely on Pandaren fishing, without ever leaving the Peak.
