This page summarises how to catch Oily Blackmouth.
Catching Oily Blackmouth
- Commentary: Up to 25% of the catch from open water can be Oily Blackmouth. Mid-skill areas, such as the Wetlands, seem to be best for open water fishing of Oily Blackmouth. Overall, pool fishing is normally more efficient.
- Achievements: The Oceanographer: Catch 30 different saltwater (coastal) fish (and loot 1 more): Algaefin Rockfish, Big-mouth Clam, Borean Man O' War, Darkclaw Lobster, Darkshore Grouper, Darkwater Clam, Deep Sea Monsterbelly, Deepsea Sagefish, Fathom Eel, Firefin Snapper, Giant Sunfish, Imperial Manta Ray, Jaggal Clam, Large Raw Mightfish, Moonglow Cuttlefish, Murglesnout, Oily Blackmouth, Pygmy Suckerfish, Raw Glossy Mightfish, Raw Rainbow Fin Albacore, Raw Redgill, Raw Rockscale Cod, Raw Slitherskin Mackerel, Raw Spotted Yellowtail, Raw Summer Bass, Raw Sunscale Salmon, Raw Whitescale Salmon, Rockfin Grouper, Stonescale Eel and Winter Squid. Also requires Abyssal Clam to be looted.
- Pools and Schools - Describes how to fish pools such as schools or floating debris, where to find pools, and how to efficiently fish them.

I am new here and new to online gaming. I joined WoW on Nov. 27, 2013 and I've never played a video/electronic/computer game in my 50+ years of living. I was introduced to El's Angling on Feb. 1, 2014.
After reading the beginning bits, I went to check out the Kalimdor page [http://www.elsanglin.com/fish/kalimdor.html]. I'm a Draenei Pally so that was my starting zone. It caught my eye that there was no mention of Oily Blackmouth or Rainbow Fin Albacore.
You can catch both of those fish on the north coast of Ammen Vale. You can walk/ride up the west coast from Ammen Ford [there's often a floating wreckage on the northwest tip of Ammen Vale]. Shortly after you turn the corner eastward, you have to jump into the water. A short swim around the point and you will find an abandoned camp. It even has a cooking fire to cook up any fish you catch.
On the shore here you will catch Oily Blackmouth and Rainbow Fin Albacore in addition to the listed fish on the Kalimdor page.
I have two screenshots:
I've blogged about it near the end of this post:

Good catch. What you're seeing here transpires to be a separate zone called The Veiled Sea. This contains what I've called coastal zone group 2 fish (notably including Dented Crate), which is one tier higher than Azuremyst Isle itself. Keep in mind that the catch is determined by where the bobber lands, not where the angler is standing, so you would need to swim just away from the beach to see the zone name change.
Normally seas around zones are defined relative to the zone, for example the Arathi Highlands had an area within it called "The Forbidding Sea". But sometimes the deep sea beyond the coast is an entirely separate zone, for example The Forbidding Sea zone. You discovered just such an example in this Veiled Sea zone. Thanks for letting us know.

Thanks for reminding me about the possibility of the Dented Crate! I've just achieved level 60 and got my flying license. Now I'm on the prowl for Nat's Book!
