About Speckled Tastyfish
- Binds when caught. 4 hour duration.
- Use: Quest: The first, second and third anglers to deliver 40 Speckled Tastyfish to Riggle Bassbait (in Booty Bay during the contest) can each claim can a prize. After the winners have been announced, batches of five Speckled Tastyfish can be delivered to Jang in Booty Bay (quest Apprentice Angler) for money.
Catching Speckled Tastyfish
- Time: Sundays 14:00-16:00 only.
- Notes: 80% of the catch from any pool (inland or coastal) in Northern Stranglethorn or The Cape of Stranglethorn during the Stranglethorn Extravaganza Contest.
- Commentary: There are many different strategies (see Stranglethorn Extravaganza Strategy) for catching 40 Speckled Tastyfish faster than anyone else, but they can be broadly summarised as:
- Fishing where others are not.
- Moving between pools as fast as possible.

- Achievements: Master Angler of Azeroth: 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the Stranglethorn Extravaganza Contest. Historically also awarded for winning the Kalu'ak Fishing Derby.
- History: 5.1: Now caught from any pool in The Cape of Stranglethorn or Northern Stranglethorn during the Stranglethorn Extravaganza Contest.
