About The Cape of Stranglethorn
- 2 Areas with Different Catches:
- The Cape of Stranglethorn (General) (225 Skill)
- The Cape of Stranglethorn (Jaguero Isle) (225 Skill)
- Recommended Level: 30-35
- Territory: Contested
The Cape of Stranglethorn (Except Jaguero Isle)
- Open Water Skill: 225 to fish open water without junk (pools can be fished effectively with skill 1).
- Notes: Inland water can be found around Nek'mani Wellspring. Inland water above Booty Bay contains coastal fish. The Cape of Stranglethorn hosts the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza on Sundays from 14:00 to 16:00. During this time, School of Tastyfish will replace all other coastal pool types. For more details, read the Contests chapter. There are no pools around Jaguero Isle, which also has slightly different open water catches and a higher skill requirement (see below).
- Commentary: The Goblins have blighted some of the most beautiful beaches in Azeroth with various pieces of (technologically backward) industrial machinery.
- Quests: There are several quests associated with winning the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza. In addition, Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme (from Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh) requires a Savage Coast Blue Sailfin. This can be caught from the "Southern Savage Coast", which covers part of the coast south to Booty Bay. The fish can only be caught with this quest. Cannot be caught while in a raid group. For more details read Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme.
- Achievements: Master Angler of Azeroth: Win the Stranglethorn Extravaganza Contest or Kalu'ak Fishing Derby. You do not need to win both contests.
- History: 4.0.3: Zone created from the southern part of Stranglethorn Vale. Jaguero Isle remains in a higher zone-group (see Gazetteer), but now with the same no-junk skill as the rest of the zone.
