Fishing in Ruby Sanctum now in 4.0.1!

  1. Meadows, October 2010:

Not sure if this is really with 4.0.1, but we were bored and waiting in RS today - and I decided to try and fish there - and lo and behold you CAN now fish in there! Prior to this it simply said "there are no fish in here".

And, in fact, I want to do more extensive testing as there does seem to be specific loot in there.

First and foremost, that lake definitely requires a high skill. I was using the archanite fishing rod with test line, Nat pagle's boots, fishing hat + fishing hat lures. And I still caught a tangled line...

Second reason I believe it is specific as I also caught a crystallized life (not water) in there (which is appropriate, since the Red Dragonflight is all about life).

Other fish I caught in there was Bonescale Snapper and Muscleback Sculpin. Didn't test it too much - but it's definitely slightly unique. I'm thinking they may have simply swapped out crystalized water for life... but who knows.

    Njoy! ^_^

Thanks. Fish have slowly appeared in raid dungeons over the last year. Further confirmation of the Crystallized Life would be useful. For reference, your effective skill was 580, which would make the Ruby Sanctum the hardest pre-Cataclysm water.

  3. Kiingy, October 2010:

Did some further testing (not for very long though)
I had an effective skill level of 600 (Arcanite Pole + Enchant, Fishing hat, +100 Lure).

Will probably head back there later
