Zangarmarsh

Detailed mapping of hard to find areas within the zone is shown below.

Notes: Zangarmarsh is divided roughly into two parts, with different skill requirements, but the same catches. Much of the water in Zangarmarsh is too shallow to fish in - try the large lakes. Pools are found throughout the zone. Juno Duffrain, who sells the book Master Fishing - The Art of Angling (Master fishing), can by Umbrafen Lake in Cenarion Refuge.

Quests: Steam Pump Flotsam pools in Zangarmarsh rarely contain a Strange Engine Part. Each part starts a quest (level 55+ required). For Alliance, simply deliver the Strange Engine Part to K. Lee Smallfry in Telredor for 2g 20s (or 9g 79s at level 70). Horde cannot complete the quest, but can still sell the engine part.

Skill Required: 305 to cast, 400 to stop fish getting away. Specific areas within this zone have different skill requirements (read below).

* Information applies to Zangarmarsh (except Marshlight Lake, Sporewind Lake, and Serpent Lake). Open water also rarely contains Curious Crate, Enormous Barbed Gill Trout, Goldenscale Vendorfish, Huge Spotted Feltail, Inscribed Scrollcase and Mote of Water. These are not shown in the table.

The catch rate is the approximate proportion of all catches from the water/pool type that are the named fish.

Zangarmarsh (Marshlight Lake, Sporewind Lake, and Serpent Lake only)

Notes: Areas close to these lakes, but not actually in the named location, have the same skill requirement as the rest of Zangarmarsh. Only casts that land in the waters of these named locations require the higher skill. Catches are the same throughout Zangarmarsh.

Skill Required: 355 to cast, 450 to stop fish getting away.

Catches here are the same as those listed for Zangarmarsh above.

On the info page for Zangarmarsh, it states that the skill required to cast is 305... I cast there with 300 base fishing skill, with 95 fishing worth of lures (so 395 fishing) but it can't be the lures enabling me as with this same skill I cannot fish in Terokkar Forest (Requires 355 to cast) Is the page incorrect or is there something I am not taking into account?

  2. By el, on 04 May 2008:

Parts of Terokkar Forest require 405 to cast. At a guess, you're trying to fish Silmyr Lake.

  3. By Fiamma, on 05 May 2008:

Yep, that's right, I'm a nub. Lol, thanks a bunch El, does this mean that with my skill and lures, I can FINALLY cast in Bay of Storms?

  4. By Oberweiss, on 05 May 2008:

On the Azshara page, this is what it says of Bay of Storms:

Skill Required: 330 to cast, 425 to stop fish getting away.
