I realize that only Ironforge was reported as confirmed, however considering the usual Alliance/Horde player character ratio, I thought it to be worthwhile to see if similar was true Horde-side.

We cannot know unless we look.

IIRC it was only Ironforge that was reported as also having the Croc.
Someone tried it in Darnasus and never caught one there either.

It doesn't make sense to me that Org would be the croc city for Horde. It should be Undercity.
Orgrimmar is analogous to Ironforge.
Undercity is analogous to Stormwind and has the sewers and canals to make it believable.

Did a 200 cast test of each Undercity and Thunder Bluff, and came up empty. Well, I did catch three "Old Teamster's Skull"s, so not exactly empty, but no crocs. Second cast in Orgrimmar, on the other hand [although I have had one 32 cast capture of the croc in Orgrimmar].

A while back I read a thread here about the possibility of catching the Baby Crocolisk quest item in cities that aren't specified in the quest log (like Stormwind). I just thought I'd mention that I did 50 casts in Undercity today without getting the item (I did have the quest). It's not definitive of course, but I've never had to go more than 30 casts to get it in Orgrimmar. I'll give it another go next time it's the daily, or maybe try Thunder Bluff.

Those level 19 twinks-to-be will be saving on lures now...

It is interesting to see how people use tags. As coded, they were designed for words or short phrases, but I'm inclined to agree that 30 characters isn't enough. When I get a chance I'll see if it can be easily increased (without breaking the underlying BBPress code).

The latest PTR patch notes have removed the level 20 requirement to read The Bass And You to raise your maximum fishing to 225.

PS: El, I tried to later add the tag "fishing level limits restrictions" to match the tag in an earlier thread about level 20 and The Bass And You, but using the "add tag" field truncated my tag, so it didn't match. I think the field width should be wider, it's about 30 or so right now.

It is the same design worn by Old Man Barlo - a slightly darker brown, with a buckle. (Edit: El's avatar is currently sporting the hat, although it might not be visible to you yet, because the old avatar image is still cached.)

So, what does it actually look like? I'm considering restarting my Wow accounts. If it isn't as stylish as my Lucky hat, I'll just tote around the lures.

Thanks Kahless. I can confirm the change, since the hat "dropped" for me this morning (image). I've altered the list of patch 2.4 fishing changes.

The +5 fishing skill bonus is entirely logical, since it will stop people having to swap hats every 10 minutes. I am also glad that more rewards comparable to the contest items are appearing: Anglers that have the misfortune to work (or otherwise be unable to play Sunday afternoons) can now start to gain some of the benefits.

Oh, and not a particularly important change because the hat is still BoP, but the level requirement has gone.

I just logged on to the PTR and noticed they changed the Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat.
There was a small patch today.

Was:
101 Armor.
+94 stamina.
Use: Attach a lure to your equipped fishing pole, increasing Fishing by 75 for 10 minutes.

Now:
101 Armor
+40 Stamina
+40 Spirit
Equip: Increased Fishing +5
Use: Attach a lure to your equipped fishing pole, increasing Fishing by 75 for 10 minutes.

Not as much Stam now but far more usefull IMO.
It totally kills the Lucky Fishing Hat.

Of course, this is all still subject to futher change befor release.
