Yeah. Unfortunately for me, I didn't know all these nifty tricks when I got my Old Ironjaw. Took me 2832 casts to catch him. The one that I discovered later was the instance trick. Queue up with a buddy, and don't leave party after you run through the instance. Then you can simply teleport to the dungeon whenever you have some player agro. </p> <p> I fished for like 18 hours, getting pwned, and frustrated and I'd log out. On my server, It's alliance heavy, and they didn't much like me fishing there. Not to mention my close friends in vent all had level 80 alliance toons.... And they thought it was FREAKING HILARIOUS to swoop in and pwn me really fast. Sometimes, they'd just stand on my bobber.... Or they'd roll a noobie alt Gnome, and call themselves a "Crotch Gnome" and just stand at my crotch (I was a blood elf at the time)</p> <p>I really did enjoy catching that fish though... I wish there were more rare fish achievements to be honest... It's a thrill fighting off a swarm of people with your fishing pole... </p> <p>Sometimes my friends and I would fight there for hours... I'm a lock, and my friend is an Enhance shaman. He has a fetish for pvp. As did I back then. Went there today with my pally, trying to do the trick of standing behind the wheel and fishing again... turns out lava is no longer fishable :( jumped on an old ally toon to confirm. So only one other good spot in ironforge, that cove lake thingy, try the sleeping trick again i guess. While you are exposed to anyone coming at you, you are in a corner made by two huge walls.</p> <p>There are only a few patrols that go by, typically one Elite and a couple of the representatives of the weekend battleground, and only a single flying patrol of one individual that doesn't fly low enough to aggro you.</p> <p>About the only issue is that the blimp flight path goes right over your head. And if you keep at the ceeling, the flying guards won't notice you.<br /> Then one you get to the Mystic Ward, get as high as you can, and look at the guards. I noticed that there are 2 groups of flying guards that patrol there, one that enter from the Commons area, go around the Mystic Ward, an into the Commons again. SW is easy, because the fishable water is just behind the gates, but the water in IF is far deep inside.<br /> 2) Anyone checked STV for the Tastyfish pools? What you do as Horde is run into Ironforge then into the Great Forge. You then swim to the large wheel, hugging the wall. When you enter the gap between the wheel and wall, start jumping. Keep walking forward until you stop taking damage, then you can start fishing. This just makes your red name less noticeable. </p> <p>DO NOT READ THIS UNTIL YOU ARE THERE, IT WILL BE CONFUSING<br /> If you face straight toward the lava, your lure tends to fall behind the wheel, causing you to turn your camera to try to spot it. There is a way to reduce these events. It's sorta confusing, but I'll try my best.<br /> If you look to the wall, you will see a pillar-looking drawing on it. Position yourself slightly behind this, then turn yourself slightly toward it (I'm a shadow priest, so this part's easy). The best angle to be is looking very slightly to the left of this pillar. If you do it right, all your casts will land in a place you can easily right click, you will, however, have to click cast a few times, as "Target is not in Line of Sight" will prevent you from casting. It will eventually send you to Orgimmar on a diplomatic mission. The quest giver opens a portal to orgimmar for you. when you get there there are no players, just guards and they don't come after you. You are supposed to complete the quest and take the portal back. Just don't. every time you go to orgimmar it will be like you are trying to finish the quest. You can leave and come back though normal means just don't use the portal, fish till you get Old Crafty, then use the portal. If this is combined with the crockolisk glitch it should be super easy.
