Are there any fishing poles that will transmorg? I tried all the ones that I had and it said they don't have an appearance: Seths, Jeweled, Kalu'ak, Big Iron, and the one from Nat Pagle's quest. I thought Seth's pole might work since it has stats +stamina, but it didn't work either.

Can you transmorg any fishing rod? I hear there are certain things you can't put in an outfit. The lumberjack shirts you have there look nice. :D I wonder if the 'blue overalls' look like that too, since I don't have any contest gear.

I haven't seen anything about this yet, so yeah,

I'm sure most are familiar with it, but with patch 4.3, came transmogrification; which allows you to change the appearance of your gear to look like another item of the same slot and material.
http://www.wowwiki.com/Transmogrification

This means not only can you can showcase your old MC and BWL epics again, but it opens up a whole world of creative outfit and costume ideas. Finally you can show up to your raid in appropriate gear but looking like the master angler you are, or pwn some noobs in pvp with fish daggers.
Here's what I've transmogrificated my lock's armor to look like, taking into account all visible slots.
Cloth Transmogrification Fishing Example
and here's an example of how my rogue looks
Leather Transmogrification Fishing Example

I've found its been kind of difficult to find shoulders that don't take away from the outfit,
I think the uncommon offhand fish like ol' ironjaw or the dark herring would be great weapons to use for transmogrifying.
I haven't tried any creations to make a fisher mail or plate wearer, and I imagine they could be a bit more difficult.
But yeah, I'd love input and especially to see what kind of gear other people have been using to make their own creations, hopefully get some new ideas and such for us all.

TODAY I BECAME "SALTY DUFFUS" It has I nice ring to it :)
On Lothar The Saturday contest seems to be less popular so I focused on it. A simple tip that I stooped ignoring made a huge difference. I used the Blizzard keybinding to set a camera view so i was directly on top of my bobber. I was able to know for sure. If my bobber was in a pool. BUT EVEN better the constant distance made it much easier to judge the distance to stand from the pools.

I am going to try to get salty on another toon and I think I am going to put a small piece of tape on my monitor to help align myself to the pools better

I got old ironjaw on the first (!) cast. But I have paid dearly for that kind of luck with other things such as the turtle or the one that didn't get away. In fact I cannot even get the vendorfish right now, leave alone anything bloated (I got some before they counted).

I just caught my second Old Crafty. The first one was with my warrior after 320+ casts. (later that very same day I got Old Ironjaw after 287 casts) Today, I thought I was going for the same with my druid and, I got it the very first cast! I couldn't believe it! Diplomat and Old Crafty in one throw. I was suddenly one of those you just hear about or is mentioned to point out that these are just by pure luck. I stood behind the waterfall for about half a minute, double and triple checking my bag to see that it really was there. Now, I'm trying for the Old Ironjaw with this character, but no luck just yet. I hoped that I would get that one as well on my first cast. That would have been über epic! :OD

Hit the icebergs off the Kal'auk village in BT. Good respawn rate and not a lot of competition since they moved the Monsterbelly quest to Darlaran.
If you're a lowbie alliance, you can use water walking/riding to get there safely from Valliance Keep.

I understood that the turtle can also drop from Cataclysm pools. Do double-check, I'm not 100% sure. But if so, you're better off fishing in Cataclysm pools, the fish will be worth more.

So my guild is hosting a 2 day fishing contest to try to get people involved in helping to get the achievment and new fish feast. What I'm told is that it doesn't matter where you fish, as long as you fish in pools. I was thinking about fishing pools in Wrath as I never got the turtle mount but was wondering if anyone had any advice or tricks. Where might the most pools, or most respawns happen? Anywhere in the world!

Thanks for any input :)

yeah ive been fishing uldum nearly exclusively. with water walking (or levitate) you can pretty much avoid 99% of the alligators. There are two spots in the northern part of the lake outside of ramkahen and another a couple pools north of that those water snakes will jump up and grab ya.

I tried the Uldam locations you mentioned today and found them to be the easiest spots to fish cata fish that I have tried. Not only are there tons of schools all around the areas mentioned but the aggro ranges and mob dispertion lends itself well to fishing for low level characters. My toon is level 31 and she is having a blast sneaking into the high level areas to ninja fish. I was able to catch a ton of fish, grab a few flight paths and explore the beautiful ruins around the area without dying more than 5 times or so. Highly recommended!
