Super easy, I convinced a priest friend to spare a few mins of his time and we levitated / aspect of the packed our way through. Elixers/ water walking were not needed with the levitate, and after a few mins of catching sagefish I got the achieve ^^ As long as you remember to jump in and stay to the left after going up the second elevator, it's a piece of cake.

This is easy to solo.
I did this at level 70. Just got a friend to sit in a raid group with me.
Used Noggenfoggers for slowfall and water walking elixirs once I hit the water.

I'd like to follow up on Thalaris' note.

I just did this as a hunter and Feign Death works perfectly fine too - in fact it made him despawn :p So no need to kamikaze if u're hunter either.

I know the techniques for soloing are pretty clear at this point, but wanted to add one very important observation from my experience -- you don't have to die!!! :-)

I gained the achievement a few days ago with my druid (used a Skyguard cape and an elixir of water walking to get to the strange pool). The moment I got the achievement, I activated my hearthstone, and was able to hearth away before being attacked.

Soloed this a few days ago. Being a druid, I can tell you that feline grace did NOTHING to help.

I had my boyfriend stand outside of the waterfall on his lowbie priest alt. He cast Levitate on me, then I ran immediately inside and fell without problem with about 30 seconds to spare (damn those elevators!) so I would recommend the same! Also he was in my raid and he's only lvl 55 so you don't need lvl 70+ people to make a raid.

Caught in about 5 casts. Very scary, I didn't expect it to jump out so.

Tried this today, tried everything but dying to get in. Had four other guildies in party, converted to raid, changed difficulties, reset instance, tried individually, did everything we could think of to get in. This is since most recent patch 3.1.3.9947. Has anyone else had any problems?
All level 80s in party.
Update-tried again next day and walked right in with two of us in raid, followed above and got it right off so I assume this was a patch problem and was corrected post haste.

"Did this last week with a guildie Shaman who also needed the achievement.
Took 3 noggenfoggers to get slow fall, drank the waterwalking potion, jumped, hit the Skyguard cape, landed safely. (We jumped from the far left corner after the second elevator.)
Stayed in the middle of water, walked to Lurker.
I went first and caught Lurker, got the achievement and we both died. The shaman rezzed and then rezzed me (I didn't accept the rez) and then he fished up Lurker for the achievement.
:)"

Sounds like it is possible to fish Lurker twice in one go (raid) with different people. It only does not have to get killed. Will he despawn after a while or after the party has died or has run away ? Can you confirm one of the above ?

cheers

I just managed to do this as a druid with stealth and without reading any of the instructions.

I stealthed past all of the monsters on the platforms, they didn't seem to notice me.

Then I jumped down, got attacked, hit lifebloom on myself while jumping out of the water as fast as possible, hit moonkin before I got out, managed to survive.

My gear isn't that good, I have a few pieces from a raid I did yesterday, but nothing else to speak of. Definitely no PvP or tank gear, just light leather and cloth. But, I am level 80, so that might be enough nowadays to get this solo.

Slowfall is no longer a self-buff only for mages. So if you can get a mage guildie/buddy to go along then they can just cast slowfall on you.

Hello fellow anglers.

I got this achievement this afternoon. And want to clarify some things. I even made a screenshot and put some comments in it.

I am a druid and i can confirm what Frol said about feline grace. I used my elixir of water walking and sustained no damage from the fall. I also tried it with Lesser Invisibility potion in caster form. I found out the following. If you use the potion on the ramp, then walk down the ramp passed the mobs and jump in the water there, there will be no falling damage and you can walk to the lurker spot.

Screenshot is here! Its on imageshack, so it has popups.

Finally got it. One tip for hunters or others with pets is to dismiss them before jumping in. First few times I tried it pet fell in water and drew mean ole fish. Dismissed him and had no problems.

Did it my first try on my lvl 80 shaman. Cast Water Walking, jumped off the platform, popped my Skyguard Cape just before landing and ran straight over to the platform. I caught the Lurker on the first cast, and since I was wearing my fishing outfit, my repair costs weren't too bad after my untimely death. :)

I managed this as an 80 prot warrior with no pots, and I'm guessing that other tank classes might be able to swing it.

For starters, I didn't jump in as the same spot as the dwarf in the video. If you head down the walkway to the first platform and hug the side away from the mobs you can make it by without aggroing them. There are other roving pats further up the walkway, so you have to time it so they're at their furthest when you get there. You should be able to make it past the first platform with the mobs and make it to the second.

At that point, you're a little closer to that first pipe you can see from the ledge where you would have jumped. That's what you're aiming for. I had some +40 STAM buff food that put me in the low 30K hp range. I popped Last Stand, Shield Wall and a +dodge trinket I have and jumped in. Not long after the biting started I hit Enraged Regeneration. I managed to make it to the pipe with a few seconds to spare. You've got to get out of the water fast, because if you're not out far enough the bitings will continue.

At that point I took a breather. I ate again and filled up the health bar, then waited until everything but Shield Wall was off of cooldown.

At this point you can look off toward where you're heading and see the Strange Pool. There's another pipe that's relatively close by. I popped Last Stand and the trinket again and swam over to that, with about half-health when I landed.

This pipe goes up to a walkway and back down the other side. There are mobs in either direction, but far enough away so that you won't aggro them. Once you've run as far as you can, the Strange Pool is within spitting distance. For good measure I waited for Shield Wall to come off of cooldown, then used everything again and made it to the walkway of the pool with no problem.

Then I stripped down, whipped out my pole (the Kalu'ak one, perverts) and fished myself up a Lurker. Then I died a horrible death, but not before whupping him across the face a couple of times.
