In the US, <a href="http://www.asafishing.org/asa/statistics/participation/">just over 10% of the population</a> go fishing (nearly 40 million people) - a remarkably popular activity.</p> <p>Personally, I've never caught a real fish, although I did try once: My line got tangled round a tree, at which point I decided to leave it to the experts. </p>
