I finally did it, but noticed one bug perhaps others have found this too. As soon as I get a Gold Coin I throw it in the fountain for the 2 minute lucky buff for increased chances of catching a coin. If during that 2 minutes I catch another Gold Coin and keep it in my bags I am unable to loot any new coins (gold or otherwise) that I haven't already caught for some reason. So I just started throwing the Gold Coins in right away even if I had almost the full 2 minutes left on the lucky buff.
