There are some Twitter-like applications that allow players to communicate with the outside world (like other realms), but they don't seem terribly popular either. Blizzard's upcoming new Battle.net will allow more inter-realm communication, but I don't expect it to support "interest groups", like fishing - I still don't think <em>they</em> understand how fragmented communities can become around "niches" like this.</p> <p>But it's clearly something people want to do.</p> <p>Do you have any ideas? Thoughts?</p> <p>There are more general things I'd like to do to bolster the community - things like being able to find other anglers on your realm, or tracking catches/achievements. We've even talked about in-game addons in the past. But I'd not considered chat. </p>
