Yes, both of those things helped a bit.

On the iPhone the forums still have a miniscule font, readable, but still a little on the small side for my preference. Changing this might make it more annoying for those on other phones though and it's tolerable.

Thanks.

I've changed the forum lists, so that only topic name and "freshness" display on mobile devices. Please let me know if that makes the forums easily readable.

Font size has been increased slightly on the main page content. It can go larger if that would help. It's a trade-off: The bigger the font, the less text on the screen.

The vertical menu/toolbar is a compromise - a lot of mobile device have tiny screens, which make horizontal menus very hard to navigate. The disadvantage is you get a page full of menu each time. You can click on the last part of the title to jump down to the main content on the page, but that isn't obvious unless you're using an audio screen reader.

I do in fact have an iPhone, and visit the site regularly on it (I'm on the road a lot). I've never really had any trouble browsing around on the site, but the changes do make things quicker when running on the EDGE network, which is always welcome.

The toolbar at the top of the page "Contents, Getting Started, etc..." are displaying vertically instead of horizontally.

The Forum lists aren't resizing to fit the display of the iPhone (complex table?) and the font is a little small to read on the display. I can zoom in, but it's a hell of a lot of panning around to read the info.

Other than that the site is displaying amazingly well. It's interesting how much neater it seems without the left ad bar.

I've just added code that should make the site readable on iPhones and similar modern small-screen/handheld devices. But I have no reliable way to test it! If you have an iPhone (in particular), PSP, Blackberry, or something like that, I'd appreciate it if you could browse to this site and verify it is readable.

The most obvious difference is the lack of a left-hand margin, but there are other tweaks too. There is one known limitation - complex tables don't crush down onto tiny screens.
