I fished the Valley of Spirits pool for awhile, but was eventually ganked. It wasn't a bad spot, really...I've caught about 300 fish there in previous attempts but I wanted to give the other place a try. I went to the Valley of Honor waterfall during "off-hours" without any problem. I'm a lvl 80 ret pally, and I entered through the western gate. Just saddle up and go for it. I stayed there for a few hours over a couple of days, logging in and out when I had the time to play. I always used Elixer of Camouflage, and so the Hunters couldn't track me. I also used Blackened Worg Steak which allows you to track humanoids; I liked watching the traffic go by me on the minimap. No one touched me there, although I do think a lvl 80 orc saw me. (Thank you from a fellow fisherman.) He was fishing too and may have heard my bobber. I couldn't hear his (and I tried to) but being under the waterfall may have been the reason why. Just for the sake of posterity, and since it seems that there are people who are into this sort of thing, here's what I caught this time around:</p> <p>Longjaw Mud Snapper: 530<br /> Bristle Whisker Catfish: 211<br /> Brilliant Smallfish: 146<br /> 17 pound Catfish: 4<br /> Lesser healing potion: 3<br /> Bloated Mud Snapper: 2<br /> Infantry Tunic of the Monkey: 1<br /> Short Bastard Sword of the Monkey: 1<br /> The One Ring: 1<br /> Old Crafty: 1</p> <p>For a total of 900 casts.</p> <p>It may not be as easy for others to get to the waterfall as it was for me, but it's worth it if you're planning on staying there for a while. Fished in the Valley of Spirits, hiding behind the big rock there. Didn't have Fishing Buddy at the time so I just had my stopwatch on. Caught him in under 16 minutes, roughly 50 catches. I think it took me longer to get into place to start fishing than it took actually catching him. I must shamefully admit that the last 30 casts were with the Crocolisks in the City daily in my quest log. I was really trying to get the little bugger unaided. Once there fish and make sure autoloot is off. You dont want to loot the crocolisk quest item. If you accidently loot the croc then simply delete it from your inventory. I can confirm that both me and a friend caught Old crafty within 20 casts. a 3rd friend tried this and got Old crafty on his 1st cast and after a bit of asking around i've discovered others taking advantage.</p> <p>Try it and see. The important parts are to have the quest mentioned above and not to loot the quest item. If you do loot the quest item you must delete. Failure to delete the quest item will mean you wont be able to loot old crafty when it catches.
