I had some friends guarding me and one of them called his buddy to come along. Said buddy proceeded to sit on all the bobbers of the fishermen around me. They then of course proceeded to sit on mine. Even with this going on I got 40 fish before a winner was announced. I hearthed. Made a run for the turn-in and..................was feared off the dock. 20 secs later the winner was announced. The dumb thing about the contest is that you have the horde and alliance working together. I was feared by someone of the opposing faction that was employed by someone of my faction. Said person won. It all came down to this: If that idiot that was sitting on bobbers had never been born....maybe a win. If I had popped Bestial Wrath before running up to the turn in.....probably a win.</p> <p>I have not done the contest since because that was an expensive morning. I realized it after the contest had started and figured I'd just go for the hat or boots. Well... as I get up towards forty fish and the contest hasn't been won I start fishing my way back towards Booty Bay. I get my fortieth fish on the beach right next to the pass that leads towards the big shark jaw entrance. I hop on my (non elite) mount and ride as hard as I can, certain that at any second someone's going to scoop me. I won!</p> <p>So, yeah, keep trying! Also, make sure to hit it on traditional vacation weekends when other anglers may be dragged away on holidays. There are some weeks on my server where people win within 15 minutes (I did it in 13 when I won), and then there are other weeks where it takes more than 25 minutes for people to turn in their Tastyfish. I was trying to with the Extravaganza for the second reward, was exactly one week after I won my first one.</p> <p>Had some problems with internet connection, so I had to wait like 2-3 sec every cast before I got to see where the cast landed, and another delay as I clicked the bobber.
