I QQ'd about this in a different thread about a month or two ago but i will reply here too.
I have a few toons that do the dailies. My main has always had what i considered terrible luck compared to the other toons. To prove it, when the fishing daily was introduced into the game I started keeping track in a logbook format. It is said that the bags are completely random.
My findings:
The toon that I have always felt to have "bad" luck. 88% of fishing bags have had Worthless Glass of various colors. I have received 1 of the BoP items. That item was the fishing hat, but it came from the Outland fishing daily. This toon also has not received the Polar Bear mount yet and i have done that daily 214 times. (The other thing to mention is that the 88% number has stayed between 80-90% since day 10)
In contrast there is the other toon. It receives worthless glass 35% or the time and has many of the neat items. Has gotten 3 polar bears mounts now.
Basically what i want is an answer on how this so called random number generator works. I'm not saying its broken, but based on what I have seen there has to be some other factor that plays into it. If something is truly random, time will ALWAYS make things level out. Luck is something that only plays into small sample pools.
Its like a casino. If you go in and set your chips down and win on the first few rolls, the best thing you can do is pick up your winnings and go home. Over the long run the casino will win. That's why they exist. Unless of course you are cheating.
If I am missing something, please tell me. Something just isn't adding up.
