[Fishing] Biggest concentration of pools for turtle mount?

Just read most of the comments posted and I'm surprised how quick most people got their turtle (or atleast they say they did). I fished mine from herring pool at Cauldros Isle, after about 2160 casts if I remembe right (yes Im unlucky), nice place to fish somewhat unstop without aggroing mobs.

I got mine in the Howling Fjord in by the Lake above Skorn, theres Herring there aswell so you can go for the Dark herring. By the time you make it all the way around they have all respawned. I never did get the herring lol, I went to teldrassil and got the snapper.

My favorite area is Grizzly Hills. I will go along the river and by the time im at the end of the river, the first ones seem to have respawned.

Last night's fishing brought my total fish and other things caught up ~1200 to 16766. No turtle yet. A friend gained hers after ~8K caught. I fished all pools from Dragonblight around HF to GH in the East and back again through to Coldaara. It has been a bit disappointing but during my fishing experience I have paid for my chopper and several other items and mounts through using cooking and my fishing mats, so all is not lost. It's a bit frustrating because I need 1 more mount aside from my last Tourney mount to reach the 100 mark. Not one to give up though.

I'm on a good 4,7k casts myself. (resat counters when it was added) and so far nothing. The turtle and STV is what seems to be eluding me.
But I am persistant (read: stubborn), so I will continue to fish for it. In order to gather motivation, I am not going for the mount specifically, but instead set myself a goal of certain amounts of fish to catch. Fish I either intend to sell, or cook and sell.
One day it could be 50-60 Angelfish, another it could be 70-80 Glacial Salmons.

    I feel that helps abit.

I posted a week ago and shortly after, I landed her. I chose to go to the glaciers off of South Borean. Others were raiding but I decided to take it easy and do my usual routine fishing. It came out of a pool at the southern-most edge of the glaciers next to a small one. I used my fishing hat and one of the +100 glow worms. I couldn't tell you if it helped.

I immediately mounted it and swam for shore with it and landed on the beach in east borean and took some screenies. He is definitely one of my favorites. I sit in Dal and pop him in and out of his shell. I take him off "run" and casually stroll with him.

Btw, I had fished up over 18K items by the time I got her. My friend has her on 2 of her toons now, but she is just lucky that way. Some of us have to be more persistent.

I got mine in Sholazar Basin. I was so excited I woke up my husband to tell him. He then spent the whole day hitting me with his turkey shooter. I haven't been trying to catch the turtle, was stocking up on Nettlefish and trying to lvl up to catch the Giant Rat. I did, of course mount immediately and wander around Ironforge, etc...
I was in the center lake of the Basin when I caught him, and DO get the breath bar, so it has to be the pole. I had Nat's pole, sharpened fish hook, and that's it. I caught him about 5 minutes after reaching lvl 450. Keep up hope!

I fished my Sea Turtle from Howling Fjord. The day prior to that I had fished the Dark Herring up for The One That Didn't Get Away in the exact same location. I started at Cauldros Island to the north of Utgarde Keep and worked my way up the mountain streams leading to the lake in the North-West (which isn't Caldemere Lake), fishing all Fangtooth Herring schools on the way. Running up and down all the streams leading the lake, I noticed that the risk of getting attacked by enemy creatures was very minimal. The pools spawn often enough in the streams and lake, so theres no need to move to other parts of Howling Fjord. On both days I fished for just over an hour with a total fishing skill of 608 (450+100+40+18).
Common knowledge maybe, but I think this is probably the safest and fastest way to fish for both achievements for level 70 or lower characters.
