[Fishing] Coralshell Turtle, a mount?

  1. Angler Nakvie <Angler>, 1 year ago:

So anyone caught one yet? Who's going to be the first?

Also, It says " in Northrend fishing pools." Does that mean any NR pool or specific ones? Does Blizz history tell us to look for a specific area or any pool?

Well I'm at 100 pools ( HF, GH, and DB manta rays) with no luck. /sigh. Back to fishing.

  2. Lebeline <Inactive>, 1 year ago:

I read that mount as having normal run speed + 60% in water meaning it goes at 160% speed in water, we won't know for sure until someone catches it though

  3. Pirakos <Angler>, 1 year ago:

The only thing that really matters...can we fish from it without dismounting?

Oh. And based on data files, the Baby Corelshell Turtle (and the other changes) are no longer part of One that Didn't Get Away (that achievement is now the same as on live realms).

how disappointing. it's not even worth getting aside from increasing your mount total. your better off using water walking potions than using this mount.

Again, you have missed the point about : walking above the water and swimming inside the water.
They are 2 totally different things.

no, i didnt miss the point. the point is that there is very little underwater content. nearly all the time you find yourself on water is to run accross it to your actual destination. meaning a normal mount + water walking potions, are better than this mount.

plain facts, without the addition of considerable underwater content, it's useless beyond show.

I think this mount is supposed to be a silly item, like Mr. Pinchy.

If it gave any sort of _real_ game advantage, there would be a great cry of outrage, as every non-fisher would feel they'd have to take up fishing (i.e. the original 100% land/100% swim speed version).

Also, you can't fish from it. It does look different from the TCG version, so that's something.

  6. Wrath <Angler>, 1 year ago:

Where did you find a picture showing it as different to the tcg mount?

  7. Mikuso <Angler>, 1 year ago:

Perhaps it's one of those mounts which change depending on your level?

    I.e. the Hallows End brooms?

Below level 60 - perhaps it moves at 60%. Beyond, maybe more?

    Just a thought...

How do you know it looks different from the TCG mount? If we are to go by the assumption that this mount is the same one that the Kalu'ak Turtle Rider's use (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=29966#screenshots:id=91398) then it does indeed have the exact same model as the TCG turtle (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=23720#screenshots:id=2226)

Boubouille's hack video simply shows the Trading Card Game model. There is also a revised "ridingturtle" model in the data files, which has the same shape as the TCG turtle, but uses a different texture. Weird colors, so probably not yet finished. Update: picture.

  10. Pirwzy <Angler>, 1 year ago:

I've read on mmo-champion that the sea turtle mount is an updated TCG turtle mount (meaning anyone with that mount is getting it replaced with the new one). I don't think this turtle is the mount you can fish up.

  11. TheTacoMan <Salty>, 1 year ago:

That would make a lot of sense. Sea turtle, 0% on land, 60% in water. from TCG. Coralshell turtle, 100% on land and water, gotten from fishing

Let's hope that's the case. I really want to replace even my hard grinded Wintersaber, from back in the day where you got 15 rep a quest, with that turtle. :D

  13. ILubLawn <Angler>, 12 months ago:

I am hoping that it drops out of the disgusting jar given by the Frenzyheart.

  14. Angler Nakvie <Angler>, 12 months ago:

As per the patch message, its obtained through fishing in NR pools. So it wont be obtained via the jars. Jar already has a mount anywho.

I was trying for it hard for a couple days, now I'm burnt out on fish.

  15. el <Nat Pagle's Love Child>, 12 months ago:

    Zarhym:

This mount, obtained via fishing, now gives a 100% speed increase in the water with no speed increase on land.

  16. C Rage <Salty>, 12 months ago:

MMOChampion just reported some more info on the turtle mount, including a video. The video is of it's WALKING speed, on land it is as fast as a non epic mount, and in water it goes at 133% speed. So it does beat water walking by a fair clip this is accurate, and I'm not mistaken.

Also, we have an achievement title now! "Turtles All the Way Down"

  17. Cozmic <Salty>, 12 months ago:

    Taken from MMOChampion

    New Achievement

    "Fishing

    * Turtles All the Way Down - Fish up a Sea Turtle mount from any fishing pool in Northrend. (Video, this is recorded in WALKING speed, the running speed is 60% just like any lvl 40 mount, swimming speed is 133%)"

And here is the link to the video

    Sea Turtle

  18. el <Nat Pagle's Love Child>, 12 months ago:

That video has been posted 3 times now. I still see no evidence that it shows anything other than the TCG mount model being walked round a sandbox server.

There's an achievement for completing all the new daily quests to.

  19. TheTacoMan <Salty>, 12 months ago:

Are either of these achievements linked into Salty?

Also, that info seems a bit wonky, 133%? That's a very weird number. I have my doubts until someone on PTR actually catches it and we can see the item, because so far we have heard:

-100% increase on land and water

-0% increase on land, 60% increase on water

-0% increase on land, 100% increase on water *Quoted by Zarhym*

-and now 60% increase on land, 133% increase on water!

  20. el <Nat Pagle's Love Child>, 12 months ago:

Based on the data files, there is no change to Salty (Accomplished Angler).
