I'm just curious about how much competition other get when fishing for crawdads. Maybe it's the time of day that I fish - early morning (5:00-6:00) - but I *never* see anyone fishing in the three lakes. Even when I log on in the evening I rarely see another fisherman. Obviously others are fishing the areas as I see crawdads on the AH.
Also, do you think the demand/price for crawdads will go down significantly once WotLK is released?
Getting to the Highland pools is pure luck on my server. I sometimes get them all in one fel swoop and other times I fight with 1-2 others on ever pool I get to. I personally find it rude to ninja someone's pool, so I do not do that. Unfortunately, others do not share my opinion.
FYI: If you are grouped with someone else and loot is set to group, you could lose Mr Pinchy to someone if they select need/greed and they win the roll. I lost my first Mr Pinchy that way. Fortunately, it was to a friend so it was not big deal. :-)
I was fortunately enough to get my first Mr. Pinchy soon after starting to fish the pools. I'm not as enamored by it as others are, although I would like to get the pet. On the other hand, I would love to get the 2-Ring or Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat - my reasons for doing the daily quest.
I have never had any competition on Shattered Hand (EU). I don't think may people on my server fish as seriously as I do, however.
Hmm. I constantly run into others fishing, or find the pools depleted, at least on weekends. I'd say 50% of the time or more then. Perhaps 30% of the time on weekdays.
