[Fishing] Crocs in the city, a promise I made about city grinding

    So today's daily is crocs again, and I made a promise elsewhere on this forum to check EVERY city when it came up, so here i go.

    I figured to start a shatt because it's the closest, however shortly after it tells me theres no fish in any of the water in shatt. Shatt = no croc.

    I then port to Silvermoon to start my journey, the first set of water encountered turns out isnt fishable either after journeying to the bazaar it turns out there isnt fishable either....
    SIlvermoon = no croc

    The Undercity - just the normal old skulls and sickly looking fish - no croc

    Next on my list was Orgrimar but this is stated in the quest text and is already known to have the croc, i went anyway just to make it a complete test. Org = croc

    Time for thunder bluff (on my through dalaran to get to TB, i tried fishing, but no croc - however no surprisess there - btw that's underbelly included) disappointed in TB - no croc

    Next came the exodar - now for the exciting bit - breaking into ally cities solo... i've had much practice at this and is great fun to go fishing there if you're bored =) - after all that, there is no fishable water... no croc

    Time for darnassus - this city isnt really fun to break into... but it is a mighty challenge, as it is a fort... hwoever this has not stopped my many break ins prior =) No croc

    I figured while im here i'll catch the boat to stormwind then train to Ironforge, during which i would fish in stormwind for the same reason as org - Croc

    Now for my final stop - Ironforge, which allegedly does have the crocs - and yes it does indeed have crocs - this includes in the lava

    SUMMARY:
    Shattrath; No
    Dalaran; No
    Silvermoon; No
    Undercity; No
    Orgrimmar; Yes
    Thunder bluff; No
    Ironforge; Yes
    Stormwind; Yes
    Exodar; No
    Darnassus; No

    Conclusion: The baby crocs can be caught in Orgrimmar, SW and IF, nowhere else - why two ally cities who knows, it may be to do with old ironjaw (?)
    having this quest NO LONGER SEEMS TO increase your old crafty/ironjaw catch rate signifigantly but in doing so may be classified as bug abuse - this may be intentional so may not be a bug and also it would be impossible to tell if you had done this or not. But be careful.

    if someone else could go to IF with the quest and see if they can obtain an old ironjaw and report back, that would be much appreciated =)

    thanks, much appreciated, cuz i'm still fishing for him and i'm well over the 1000 fish he SHOULD take (up to about 3000 in IF) and thought i'd try my luck with the bug, but i've caught about 200 fish and no luck still

    i do believe they have finally got arounf to fixing this bug

    The bug was never with Ironjaw, only with Crafty. As of yesterday, the bug was still there, since myself and a guildmate both caught Crafty quickly with the Crocolisks in the City quest in our logs (this was the first time the quest had come up in weeks)

    Confirmed. I caught 3 consecutive Craftys this morning.

    Ugh, why does Blizz hate the Horde so much? Why can't this work for Old Ironjaw, too? LOL

    I'll still try whenever the quest comes up, though.

    Just as a quick note -- the daily fishing quest is not the same on every server. It's random between all of the daily fishing quests every day on every server. So on realm A they might've had the croc quest twice this week, but on realm B they have only had it once this week. Just because it's the croc quest today on your server doesn't automatically mean that it's also the daily on every other server. So this person saying that it was the first time the quest came up in weeks could very well be possible, even if your server has been luckier and has had it twice this week.

    I totally forgot about this today -- today the croc quest was our realm's daily and I was so in the flow of what I normally do that I forgot. I promise, next time it comes up for me I'll head over to IF and give it a try :)
