[Fishing] Dark herring.. how i got it in 1hr..

    Hi, i think the Old Iron jaw is most hard, i used over 5000 catch for it, then gave up, and occassionally stopped fishing when i came back IF to use AH. then it was like 7 or 8 night, and my 10 min limit of time what i decided to use was allmost up and i got it. But y never know, one my guild member, had it while improving skill less than 10 min. But good luck all, i think its best to try it short times and often.

    I followed the OPs technique, which I found to be excellent, and after:

    66x [Fangtooth Herring]
    56x [Pygmy Suckerfish]
    4x [Bonescale Snapper]
    3x [Glacial Sammon]

    I got the [Dark Herring]!

    It must have taken 30 minutes at the complete maximum.. I'm aware that I have been considerably lucky but I always thought there was no hope and that I'd be there for 10 hours! So have hope and keep fishing, maybe talk to guildies to occupy your mind, it certainly helps :)

    Looks like Blizz upped the drop rate on Dark Herring lately. Been doing the circuit around Caldrous Isle and up north-east into the lake for the turtle. Yesterday caught the DH on my 6th and 52nd cast. Today, got another on my 33rd.

    That's 4 I have so far for about 3.5 hours fishing. Another friend of mine fished 14 hours for his turtle in the same place and has 19 Dark Herring.

    So for those who don't have one yet, this is the place to hit.

    16 Fangtooth Herring
    12 Pygmy Suckerfish
    1 Dark Herring

    8 Crystallized Water
    1 Dark Herring and achievement :)

    Need one more gold coin for Salty, saved it the last so I can brag about it in Dalaran ;)

    I equipped my fishing pole and hat. I flew to a pool. I casted fishing. I looted Dark herring on my first catch. I was stunned for 1min.

    Just pulled up Dark Herring and finished off Accomplished Angler!
    Took about 1000 casts all with +100 lures. I have Epic Fishing Pole and +3 line attached as well...

    I confirm that doing circles around Cauldros Isle is a great way to fish up a Dark Herring. It took me slightly less than a hour, and since (usually) there's not a big delay between pools, it must be a good place to get your turtle mount too.

    The only flaw was that I ran out of pools twice even though there was nobody else there, but if that happens all you need to do is follow the water to the west, as there are a couple of pools there as well, and go back again after you fished from 'em.

    I got my dark herring in about 90 catches, grab it before it's nerfed!
