While most people were working their talents and checking out the new content, I decided to keep working on my fishing.
I won the Stranglethorn Tournament a few weekends back, and the achievements I had left for Salty were Mr. Pinchy's Magical Crawdad, One that Didn't Get Away, and Coin Master.
So, I log in around 8PM last night, respec my talents, then figure that all of the Highland Mixed Schools in Terrokar should be up since everyone will be busy with new content. I was right. All of the pools were up. I cleaned out Lakes Journe and Ere'Noru then on my first pool at Blackwind, I get Mr. Pinchy! Sweet. I cross my fingers and make the wish and sure enough, I get the Magical Crawdad.
I figure that there's no time like the present and go start fishing up fangtooth herring schools in Howling Fjord and after about 20 casts, I get the Dark Herring and get the One that Didn't Get Away achievement. My guild is going nuts.
So I start fishing up coins in Dalaran. After about an hour of this, I decide to break up the monotony and go fish some Glacial Salmon pools in Grizzly Hills to train my cooking and on the 2nd cast, I fish up the Sea Turtle!
I then proceed to strut said Sea Turtle around Dalaran then spend another hour and a half fishing up coins until my last copper coin (Inigo) and BAM, Salty Meraxes.
The less rational part of me wonders if there was something going on with Fishing last night, so if anyone else had similar experiences please let me know. Otherwise, I think i was just blessed by the RNG gods. I'm off to buy a lottery ticket! Check out my Armory when it comes back up to see all of the achievements on the same day (well, they span the 14th and the 15th).
