[General] Wheres Your Favorite Fishing Spot(s)?

I like fishing in the pool under my Citadel, but i think i am running outta fish there so i go to Stranglethorn Vale to kill annoying players and use my ghouls to make people not be able to see the fishing bobber in the contest. STV is where i fish. Watch out.

Fave spots currently are Grizzly Hills for the Salmon and the Dragonspine River for the Angelfish. Both sell extremely well on my server and it's not uncommon for me to stay long enough to get 100 of each per day when not raiding.

In terms of just 'atmosphere', it has to be Grizzly Hills. The music is unobtrusive (as in non-epic combat sounding) and I get a kick out of watching the Grizzlies fishing along the riverbanks. Great animation Blizz put in there for our amusement.

Prior to 3.1, Grizzly Hills and Lake Kumuya in Borean. Now? Wintergrasp. Everything I need for fish feast in one spot.

I've leved my fishing from 1-200 in dalaran sewers (no rat =P ) then I went camping for old iron jaw from 200-250 so I think those are my 2 favorite places =)

Well, I have to agree, Wintergrasp is now my favorite. For more than just what Ashyni mentioned.

Specifically, the west edge of the zone where the snow meets the green patch. Here you will find a small pond, well sheltered, from where a waterfall drops down into Borean Tundra. Fishing here nets me so many fish without having to scamper to pools! Too many to make fish feasts, so I AH the rest. An hour can net you 200-300 gold. Additionally, there are Darkwater clams. Though the meat doesn't sell well, I did get a Siren's tear from one yesterday.

But the absolute best thing about fishing here is my chance to do in the opposite faction. I'm not much of a pvp'er, but as a priest, alchemist, cook, I have a terrific edge.

I eat a Blackened Worg Steak. This lets me track humans. I drink an Elixir of Camoflague. This makes me untrackable (for hunters and druids). Then I fish and keep a watch on my mini-map for anyone approching. The reason for anyone else to visit here is fishing...or...the Saronite node that pops every 30 minutes right beside the waterfall. When I see a red dot approaching from the north-east, I quaff an Invisibility potion. The 18 seconds is usually ample time for the intruder to arrive at the node.

Now, I cast Mind Control... the other player is either too busy mining, or is in shock to see me materialize. And by now it's too late. It takes 2 seconds to run him/her off the waterfall to the 500+ yard drop.

Done this a few times now and I must admit it's a delicious feeling! I love giving flying lessons.

Behind the mage hut in Org just b/c i can spot the alliance fishers and nuke them. Outside of cities though I prefer Feralas/Winterspring but less in Fer now that the fairy dragon hunters are all there....

That Camouflage+Invis+Mind Control trick is awesome. I wish the old engineering Mind Control cap worked at all levels, so I could do that with my hunter.

Anyway, some of my favorite spots:

Fort Wildervar, which someone else mentioned, is the best place I've been to. It's beautiful in a wintry sort of way, and there are plenty of pools all around the adjacent lake (Lake Caldemere), which is just large enough that by the time you make a full circuit of it the pools have respawned for you. Fort Wildervar itself is a nice town with hippogryphs and a good-sized waterfall overlooking it. Just a great place, and I don't think I've ever seen another player there. The only downside is that once I was done fishing for the Dark Herring and Sea Turtle, I had no real reason to be fishing Fangtooth Herring pools.

Stranglethorn Vale is great as well, as many other people have said ... it's a relaxing zone as long as you're max level, and it has some scenic rivers and beaches at which to fish.

I really like the river that runs east-west in the northwest corner of Grizzly Hills. There are multiple Glacial Salmon pools, and it feels very remote since it's fairly deep in the forest and not in the middle of a major questing area.

Last but not least, I loved fishing behind the waterfall in Orgrimmar for Old Crafty.

    Old GM Island

I'd really have to say Un'Goro Crater's Hot Springs. I first went there as a level 35 Night Elf Warrior for the Noblegarden Hot Boiled achievement, and it took me forever to get there! But once I had finally reached it, it felt so awesome because it was such a struggle. I like to get my Sunscale Salmon and Nightfin Snappers there ^_^
