Does anyone know if the Fingerless Gloves still drop? I must be having bad luck, cause i killed him a few times now and only getting the Thuggish Shield.

Well after a long but fun hunt i got them =D
I was almost about to give up and just go for Heavy Linen Gloves or Knitted Gloves.
Fingerless gloves are so much better for the fishing outfit IMO. Grats on getting them!

Thanks! I was kinda worried cause when i was asking around someone told me it didnt drop then on my next kill i got it xD

I have a few pairs but wanted to kit out a few alts with them also. it's been a while since I went hunting Thuros Lightfinger and in those days he used to spawn in random camps around Elwynn Forest.
Reading up before I started a couple of days ago I see that he now appears to only spawn in the same spot, close to Jerod's Landing. No problem, makes the hunt that much easier. However, after a dozen or so kills I became a little suspecious as previously they had dropped reasonably often.
Rereading wowhead it looks like a lot of people are finding the same thing with the newest poster saying 40 kills and no drop. I understand RNG can be a pain but with these reports and also someone else noting:

These gloves, along with other unique-looking and slightly overpowered common quality items from low level rares no longer drop. Instead, they now drop a random "Imbued" uncommon item.He does indeed drop a lot of uncommon 'Imbued' loot as can be seen from wowhead. But so far after 26 kills still nothing.
Going on this I did make a ticket but got the standard "we wont tell you if they are in the game because it would spoil the mystery' type GM response. Not helpful.
Anyhow, I will continue to try and if the drop rate is indeed now 1.6% then it could take a long time though I have seen no reports of a drop since 4.1 which concerns me as these are really very much part of the fishing gear tradition.
If anyone can confirm a drop recently then please post. I would be a reassurance. I do hope they have not dropped these from the game.
I too have been farming Thuros for the gloves but without success. Unfortunately I haven't been keeping count but I will start. I still have 3 pairs from before, so all I can say is that they are in no way as common a drop as they used to be, if they still drop at all.
It would be sad for these to have been removed, for while there are other gloves that look fingerless, these are the only ones that seem appropriately named. I did the quest for Fisherman's Gloves but these look good for dumping a trawler net full of cod on the deck of a boat, they do not look like the gloves of an angler.

I have had the same issue --even before he stuck in one place, he hasn't dropped the gloves. I used to be able to pick up a new pair every few kills :-(

Just to update I continued to farm Thuros Lightfinger and failed to get any fingerless gloves to drop in 70+ kills.
Either they have nerfed the drop rate for some reason or the quote I included above is true and they have just been removed as part of the overhaul of low level rare spawn drops. In this case it is sad as they are iconic and appreciated by many anglers.
I also tried 20+ kills on the Beta MoP server without success so it doesn't look like things are set to change sadly.
Perhaps worth posting to official forums and hope we get lucky with an official response.
If you look up the Gloves on Blizz's own website, the item exists but isn't "dropped by" anything anymore. So I think they are no longer obtainable. Dunno if we'll convince them to fix that.
