Just wanna say thanks El for your guide. I figured I should finally give this a go and read over your guide for the STV contest prior to jumping into it and I'm glad I did!!
I managed to pull in the victory around 22 - 23 minutes. Thanks for your guidance it is much appreciated!!

gratz matey, I've been there several times and 3-4 times had the win stolen off me by 2 fish lol. you must have got very lucky. I struggle awefully to shoo the twinks out of the way >_> Blizzard should really do something about that.
Not sure if I'd qualify as a twink or not but it went pretty smooth.
Used epic mount with riding crop, had seth's graphite fishing pole and about 1 min before start threw a +100 lure on it. (I believe I was around 224 fishing skill at the time..only up to 270 now)
I started on the point directly south of the horde camp on west coast and was lucky enough to hit my first two schools of fish and start on third before I ran into people (I headed south at start). As soon as I ran into the crowd heading north, I mounted up and crossed the water just south of the horde camp..and moved north along the coast until I had to turn around and head south again. (at this point people began popping up everywhere)
I skipped any pools that had 2 people already fishing in them and if I was fishing a pool and someone else started fishing it I'd take 2 fish and mount up for the next.
I'm looking forward to seeing if running it the same route next week will work again.

In fact if I had not recieved the Lucky Fishing Hat I would have deemed the 2 hours a waste.

That last one's because I'm an engineer and nothing's beyond the realm of possibility), Riding Crop and Azure Silk Belt (+15% swim speed for those who don't know) had never been pushed so hard, and Skelly, my horse, was very tired and hungery, he ate a lot of gnomes that night. If not for that Damn level 19 N.Elf Priest twink fishing in my best area, I'm sure i would have won, *mutter* wish 'a could'a kill'd 'er *mutter*
