[General] Fishing Buddy Problem, please help

  1. Tergiet <Angler>, 11 months ago:

Hi, this is my first post here so I would like to thank El for an excellent site! I was hoping my first post would be: Yay I finally finished The One That Didnt Get Away, but Ive been fishing to no avail. Leveled cooking 1-375 on 2 chars plus about 1500 other fish so far. :(

So here is my problem, I am new to Fishing Buddy, I really like it but Im having a problem with it and I want to know if any of you have the same problem or an idea how to fix it. Ez cast makes me lose fish, not too often, but Im terrified that it will be the one I need so I havnt been using it. It seems when I double click when the cast is at the end of its channel I lose the fish. It seems to happen a lot more in Northrend than in other areas. But it did happen last Sunday during the Extravaganza twice, and unfortunatly I was 2 fish short of winning ( first try too, Im pumped about next week).

Am I clicking too fast? Is it just one of those random things that cant be avoided? I have combed the internet for people having the same issue and havnt found any. Thank you all for any advice you can give.

If you double click on the bobber splash you'll loot and re-cast most of the time but sometimes you'll re-cast before you loot.
I find it best to re-cast after looting.

Right-click once to reel in and loot,
    Then double click to re-cast.

Long ago, you could auto cast with a single click.
Back then fishing buddy would let you re-cast while the loot window was still open.
Since the patch that broke autocast, it's unreliable at best.

I've reverted back to my pre-fishing buddy method. I bind shift-z to cast fishing. Shift-click to autoloot and tap z to re-cast.

Thank you so much, the 3 cast method works great. You saved at least one of my hands the pain of long fishing grinds!
