Fishing isn't just a great way to chill out in Azeroth or a means to get your Cooking skill up, it is also a martial art. As I got my skill to 300 I noticed that every new point I got in Fishing also increased my melee Crit Chance by 0.04%. Adding a +100 lure added 4% to Crit Chance. When I switched poles from +25 to a +30 to Fishing skill the Crit Chance increased as well (0.20%).
It only increases the Melee Crit Chance, not Ranged or Spell but every little bit helps when you have to beat up a hydra prowling your favorite fishing hole.
