[Fishing] Gone Fishin' Give-Away

  1. el <Nat Pagle's Love Child>, 6 months ago:

For those that don't read the front page: Thanks to WoWTCGLoot, we have a "Gone Fishin'" Trading Card Game loot card to give away. For details and entry, please read this. Use this topic for discussion/questions, but don't enter in this topic.

I'd so love to win that. I'd definitely enter, but I'm in Canada.

  3. el <Nat Pagle's Love Child>, 6 months ago:

It's annoying. Unfortunately only about half of the people that visit El's Anglin' are eligible. Every country, and often every territory within every country, has different laws - and most of them I don't understand.

My limited understanding of Canadian law is that sweepstakes without a "test of skill" are illegal. So instead of asking your favorite place to fish, I'd have to ask what 2+3*4/5 equals. (Or something similar which the dwarves would find tricky!)

Sorry if this comes off sounding more antagonizing than I mean it to be, but when you say "selected randomly" what exactly is the process? Close your eyes and point? /roll the number of comments in-game? Something more sinister that involves how much you like the entry?

/roll the number of comments in-game?

That's it. There was a suggestion to actually use a Titanium Seal of Dalaran, but that would be a bit more fiddly, given the number of entries.

Shame I can't enter because i'm not from the UK :( Then again the weather in the Netherlands is better atm :p

  7. Isa <Salty>, 5 months ago:

Boohoo! Always against us Europeans! :P

  8. Basill <Salty>, 5 months ago:

    Thumbs up.....

Now a chance for a nice comfy chair... and no need to pay real money on ebay to get it...

I wish all good luck ;)

    2+3*4/5?

    4.4

    Or 22/5.

    :D

I'd absolutely love to win, unfortunately my /roll luck is marginal, at best.

I love to sit in ironforge and chat while fishing the fountain. Oh that trade chat is a hoot.

Fantastic competition by elsanglin. The Fishing Chair is definitely something to be proud of. Good luck to everyone!

    Was a winner announced?

  13. el <Nat Pagle's Love Child>, 5 months ago:

    Soon (TM).

  14. anakhahawk <Angler>, 5 months ago:

The suspense is killing me. It's worse than waiting on Oracle Eggs to hatch :P

  15. el <Nat Pagle's Love Child>, 5 months ago:

Unfortunately, I've not yet heard anything from the first person to be selected. If they don't respond soon, I'll draw another.

  16. Jindar <Angler>, 5 months ago:

with luck, that person'll be me. I know of at least two people on my server, one a former guildmate, who has the chair, and every time I see it, I'm jealous - they don't even fish, they just got lucky and nabbed it instead of the spectral tiger card, out of the packs they bought...

  17. Sapphiria <Salty>, 5 months ago:

Just a suggestion in by means of our favorite place to fish. I think it would be cool to have it on our profile page.
I have come across a wonderful spot I would love to share with others, and recently with all the new interest in fishing I for one have had to teach quite a few of my freind's and guild members, not to mention others who have asked me after seeing my title and mount.
I thought it would be nice to actually share my spot and if you happen to be on my realm, you can always find me there at certain times and maybe we could fish together or i could teach and fish at the same time.
As for contest I cant wait, the suspense is killing me too! Good Luck to all!

For the curious, I've analysed the responses here.

... and a thorough and insightful analysis it is, too. Thanks much. :)
