So I ran my Guild's first every Fishing Party/Derby. What I did was buy up seven Netherweave bags, seven Strong Fishing Poles, as many Aquadynamic Fish Attractors as I could get, I farmed for a Big Iron Fishing Pole, bought a Frostweave bag, and a Scroll: Enchant Gloves Fishing. I also brewed up tons of Captain Rumsey's Lager
The Fishing Party/Derby was held in the Forlorn Cavern of Ironforge. I handed out a full stack of Captain Rumsey's Lager to everybody who showed and if somebody ran out, I gave them another. I had the following prize sets:
Standard Prize Set (I had 7 of these) : 1 Strong Fishing Pole, 1 Netherweave Bag, 2 Aquadynamic Fish Attractors.
Grand Prize Set (Just 1) : 1 Big Iron Fishing Pole, 1 Frostweave Bag, 20 Aquadynamic Fish Attractors, 1 Scroll: Enchant Gloves Fishing.
I initially was going to give a standard prize set to anybody who caught a weighted fish and give the grand prize set to whoever caught Old Ironjaw first. I altered this duirng the course of the event to giving a standard prize set to anybody who got a fishing achievement during the derby and gave the grand prize set to whoever caught the biggest fish.
Overall, it was a lot of fun and a lot of people in my guild were introduced to fishing. I think the enxt one will go even better.
I make a lot of Gold from my fishing and see this as a way to give something back through my guild.
