So I tried to do the Derby today for the second time, this time with a seemingly good strategy.
Win - No :(
Effective Fishing Skill - 450 + 100(lure) + 20(rod) + 10(drink) + 5(enchant) = 585
Faction - Horde
Succesful casts - Didnt count, but i didnt get the shark anyways :/
Where Shark were caught - Didnt catch it :/
Turn-in Time - Don't know, was in frozen sea
Strategy - I went up an hour ahead to read up on some strategys. Went online at 13.30 ish. I decided to stack up pools at the frozen sea in borean tundra. Worked extremly well, I fished all over the coast and there was ~15-20 pools stacked up at one place, it was insane. Yellow dots everywhere on my Find Fish. And as this guide says, there will be competition about the frozen sea of borean tundra. This is a normal populated server, not high, not low. I brought my alliance friend who happen to be very talented at PvP, we sat on skype together so that we could keep comunication. He killed anything that came in my way (Deathknight + Paladin who were trying to steal my pools). I fished for 15 minutes without ANY downtime. I also used Water Walking elixir aswell so I didnt even have to find spots to stand on the ice bergs etc.. After 15min I asked the hunter to go Dalaran and check if there's already been a winner, there was :/ Seems to be mostly about luck. I wish Blizzard would do like the STV one and just let it be about who catches a certain amount of fish first instead of about who gets luck enough to catch some extremly rare fish.
