Added alongside the new epic fishing hat, Nat's Hat, comes an interesting fishing item available at revered with The Anglers, the 'Sharpened Tuskarr Spear'. Details:

Use: Plant the spear in the ground, increasing Fishing skill by 15 for anyone who remains within 15 yds. Lasts 2 min. (5 Min Cooldown)

The idea of a shared +15 fishing skill buff is a nice one, however the implementation seems rather odd.
Being a main hand item you would have to equip it, Use it for the buff then re-equip your fishing pole each time.
Given the seemingly very short buff time currently of 2 minutes and a 5 minute cooldown, it just doesn't seem practical.
It would be more useful as an item in your bag to put on your bars and would need to have a longer buff time to make it worth while using except in very specific situations.
The idea of the shared buff is really nice though and who doesn't like a fishing spear. Just how it works in actual use.
