Not sure if I am really lucky or they upped the catch rate of Mr. Pinchy, but in the past week i have caught him twice with 13 casts at Stonebraker Hold. Unfortunately the first one did not yield me the pet so hopefully my second one will.

Is it possible to have 2 Mr. Pinchy's looted at the same time? I caught one today but need some other fish to level my cooking so if it's possible I might try for him again to be on the safe side.

Well I lucked out and got the pet this morning, and as far as Ive seen you can carry two but the CD counts on both. I only had one at a time, didn't think i would be that lucky.
I had three Mr. Pinchy's in bags at the same time, so it is certainly possible!

Since WOTLK went live, the drop rate of Mr Pinchy has been upped signifigantly. When he was first added, the drop rate was close to 1 in 500. A little while later (IIRC, just before achviements came out), that drop rate was almost halved to 1 in 250. Now, i wouldn't be surprised if it was as low as 1 in 150
Just fished him up and got the crawdad box on my first wish. I'm pretty damn lucky, i think i fished up like 25 pools. There was an orc shaman also farming the pools but he was harmless :P, i think he also got the box just before i did because he left cheering :P
I caught 2 Mr Pinchy in 4 casts last night on my second fishing character. They definitely must have increased the chance to find.
i must be unlucky then so far i am at 327 pools and no Pinchy.. but then again i was lucky on old crafty so who am i to complaint hehe
I only got lucky on the Giant Sewer Rat... and lucky is relative there... *only* took me 275 casts...
I am at over 4k casts for Mr. Pinchy and so far I've gotten 3 wishes and no pet.

I got the achievement bug the other day and decided to start going through and picking out some in the list to get done.
Did a bit of research on Mr. Pinchy and started fishing. Working my way down the map I checked both Lake Jorune and Lake Ere'Noru, with 'Find Fish' turned on (making this extremely easy). Neither lake had a single node to be found so I headed down to Blackwind Lake. There were SEVERAL nodes so I just worked around the lake in a circle, and before I left made one more lap to make sure I didn't miss any.
I went back up to Lake Ere'Noru, and found that nodes has spawned there, so I started in the same fashion. On the third node there, on the second cast... Mr. Pinchy. On the first wish... Magical Crawdad.
So:
13 nodes in 2 lakes yielded
2 Enormous Barbed Gill Trout
29 Furious Crawdads
5 Motes of Water
11 Golden Darters
1 Huge Spotted Feltail
1 Inscribed Scrollcase (containing 1 Scroll of Intellect VI)
2 Curious Crates (1 containing 4 Feliron Ore, and 1 containing 4 Netherweave Cloth)Level 80 with max fishing skill, Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat, and Jeweled Fishing Pole.
Who knows, maybe they figured "Early bird gets the worm"? I started fishing at about 5:30am ST.

I really hope this is true, because on my first Salty character, Mr. Pinchy probably took me two weeks of fishing every night. Not looking forward to getting him again. :)
