Marcia Chase is just cheap. I do the fishing dailies without fail. And almost every day, it's just grey junk as my reward. I still haven't gotten the Strand Crawler pet, or the jeweled fishing pole. I got the Bone pole back when 3.1 went live, then....nothing.
I know it's the RNG, but I'm curious: are others having the same luck with trash rewards, and or has your luck been much better, dropping all the cool items in a short time?

I'm exactly the same! All I got was the bone fishing pool, otherwise nothing. At least her new age painting yields 25g with vendor. Otherwise I as I am an alchemist I can do without the pygmy oil and deviate fish.
I got my Tide Crawler, the Strange Compass, and I think 2 Porcelain Bells. I have gotten the hat too, but that may have been the Shatt daily...
I've pulled nothing exciting out of that bag apart from 2 epic gems (which non i could use) yet. It's rather frustrating, because I used to do the daily quests nearly every day until patch 3.2. Now the dailies I do usually on my "round" (Argentum Crusade, Frenzyheart Tribe and JC/Cooking/Fishing) take much more time than previously, so I do them about every two days.
Lol, i got the Jeweled Fishing pole on my first bag, and about 3 bags later i got the strandcrawler :p
nice, iv'e gotten about 3 epic gems, 5 hats, bone fishing pole, strand crawler, and some other grey items but they do vendor for some good moneys. i can get about 5-16g ontop of the money. <3 the pigmy oil just drink like 10 to make you a gnome, with a mask =)
I didn't even get the pole until the day after I got the Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole.
I had a similar experience to bombcar's. Two days after picking up the Mastercraft Pole and applying the high test Eternium fishing line to it that I had been holding onto.....I got the jeweled fishing pole.

No epic gems or pets yet, but I'm hoping! Picking up the porcelain bell a couple of times definitely helped out my bank account.
It's very hit or miss for me - either a bag with lots of goodies or pretty much nothing but cheap vendorables. I tend to get far more of the latter, but the rare treasure trove sure does light up my day... still coveting that jewelled fishing pole though.
Well I still didnt get a cool fishing pole yet. I got several items from the daily, epic gems, the bell which is 100g vendor, the painting, 25g, and loads of other non profitable items.
Got the strandcrawler almost as soon as she could give her dailies away, but after that, it's a surprise everyday :D
I have not missed a single day of the fishing daily and have recieved every item that can drop from the Dalaran fishing bags except the lockbox, stuffed shark, any of the gems and the pet. As a pet collector (98 pets so far) this is pissing me off, especially when people in my guild who are not collectors got the pet in the first week. She needs to drop the pet or we may find her floating in the fountain soon.
I've had the Jeweled pole, the crawler, the hat..twice (even though I already had it),one lockbox containing one spellpower gem plus other random stuff, the compass, and a LOT of oils and deviate fish, 2 waterlogged recipes, 4-5 vials of poison, and enough worthless glass to re-glaze Stormwind Cathedral, but no sign of the Bone pole :(
I have three 80s (pally,mage,warrior) with maxed out fishing. My mage has had most of the luck.
Pally – That stupid compass more times that I can count (I vendor it always)
Mage— 2 epic gems (kept one sold the other), The strandcrawler and the jeweled fishing pole.
Warrior—His fishing hat @ last.
I check to see what the daily is to determine if I bother doing it. If it is the winter grasp daily I do it for fish feast mats. I also do the ghostfish and the sewer jewel quest. The blood fin and “severed arm” quest are to much of a pain and so I skip them.
The only thing I have gotten is 1 Jewel, the Compass and vendor trash. I couldn't tell you how many times I have done this.
For a time I was filled with luck, 8 bells in a 2 week period.
I have 8 characters who make the fishing quests almost every day. Depends, if I have the time to fly 8 times to Tundra and back. ;)
From all these quests my chars got:
- 6 strandcrawlers
- 2 jeweled fishing poles
- 1 bone fishing pole
- 3 tiny lockboxes
- 1 hat
and all the other stuff for sale. Some of the Pigmyoils I collect with my alchemist for Elixir of the Guru.
i kept the compass....did anybody else keep the compass?...lmao
I only got one strandcrawler (at least with my main), two compass', some jungle hats and one epic gem (ehm, I think I got that one, can't remember XD).
I only wish for the jeweled pole now because it's just beautiful!
But no luck with three characters... <.<
Done the daily every single day since 3.1 (I was out of town a couple days but I had my bf log in and do them then) and gotten Jeweled fishing pole, 1 porcelain bell, 1 20 spirit stormjewel, and plenty of jungle hats, compasses, new age paintings, tower keys, whale statues.
