    Ye I gotta say it is kinda odd with crocolisks.
    I caught my 5th now, 2nd time i get him during crocolisk daily.
    And this time I got both on the first catch. Kinda odd.

    I have to agree with others, there is definitely something to Old Crafty/Ironjaw and the Crocolisk quest. I picked up the Crocolisk quest, and was in a raid. Within 30-50 casts, I had Old Crafty.

    There is a part of me that is like "ewwwww, that's not right! illegitimate!" but at the same time, due to the poor handling of Bind on Pickup and recasting your line, I had tossed out an Old Crafty a few days prior and got ganked a bunch after that. So all in all, I suppose it's fine?

    Has anyone questioned a GM about this quests behaviour?

    Blizzard are certainly aware that something isn't working as intended. I can only assume it is a low priority bug: It seems to be limited to awarding an achievement that most anglers would have got eventually anyway; and sometimes does not allow looting a fish which has no practical use to anyone with high enough level to take the daily quest.

    Maybe I did the bug wrong. When I was working on this achievement, I got the crocolisks in the city quest. I went to Org to do my fishing. On the first catch I got the baby crocolisk and another junk fish. I thought to try some more fishing just in case this bug worked. It didn't appear to change the drop chance at all. 1520 catches to get Old Crafty while the crocolisk quest was in my log complete but active. If there is a bug, it must be somewhat rare.

    you did it wrong :P For it to work, you can't have the baby croc in your inventory, but you must be on the crocs in the city quest.

    You have to make sure your autoloot is off when performing this trick.

    Get the Crocolisk quest and head to Ogri or IF, depending on which one you need to catch.

    Again, make SURE your autoloot is off. Start casting and you will see you get the crocolisk + another random fish on your first catch... DONT loot the crocolisk and just start recasting. If you keep doing this, its a matter of a few minutes before you catch Ironjaw or Crafty.

    I did this trick several times and it worked each time for me.

    I tried that trick today after MANY hours of fishing for Old Ironjaw to no avail...It did not work in IF. My friend and I both tried for about 50+ casts. Neither of us looted the Croc for the quest and we were both on the quest. We went to Org next and both caught Old Crafty within 3 casts. I don' t know if this just doesn't work in IF or we had extremely crazy luck in Org. Either way, happy we at least got one ;-).

    It should work in IF as well, it did for me and as El stated in another post crocs can be caught in IF ;)

    I got him! In fact I got them both in the same day. It took 126 casts to land Ol' Crafty. Feeling lucky I decided to head on over to Ironforge and try Old Ironjaw. 1045 casts later Ironjaw was in bag.

    But the Crocs in the City quest is for SW and Ironjaw is in Ironforge. Maybe this works for Horde, since both are in Org, but Alliance use different cities.

    From what they were saying earlier in the post, it sounds like the croc can be caught in IF as well (even though it says SW in the quest text)

    I caught him today after about 100 casts. A week ago I did about 600 casts and nothing. Stupid fish.
    And I got Muckbreath when I turned in my fishing daily. Today was a good day.
    Oh if I see an Alliance toon fishing in Org I am gonna do a /welcome or /hi and not bother you. I wish I could expect the same response when I go to Ironforge.Good luck to all.

    Yeah I tried to show the trick to a friend of mine 2 days ago and I didnt get any sign of Ironjaw over a hundred casts.

    Yesterday I noticed I only caught the baby crocolisk single, so no extra fish in one catch. So they prolly hotfixed it :'(

    I tried this the day before yesterday and got Ol' Crafty on the fourth cast. Before then I had fished hundreds of fish up in Org. and had no sign of him.

    Over the weekend my brother and I decided to go after Old Crafty, no use of the ‘Crocs in the City’ bug, just sit there and tough it out and see if we could get him. This was our first crack at Crafty and after 94 casts my brother had him in the net and after 121 casts I too had my Crafty, have Blizzard improved the odds on this, or did we both just get lucky?

    We are both Horde so fishing in Org was no trouble, but a bit of advice for any Alliance trying for Crafty on the Darkspear EU server. Every time I’ve been up by the pool where the fishing trainer is, I’ve seen Alliance corpses floating in the water near the waterfall. At the moment that spot seems very popular with Horde Achievement hunters, I guess many of them aren’t dedicated fishermen, so haven’t got a lot of sympathy for you guys.

    I prefer to fish in the shallow pool down by the first aid trainer, no one much fishes there, so I don’t have to listen to everyone else’s bobbers splashing. The last couple of times I’ve fished that pool there have been one or more Alliance guys fishing behind the rocks with no one bothering them.
