    wOOt! Happy to report, after hours of fishing the forlorn cavern (sorry, no addon to give numbers) the above described "catch & release" will result in the successful snaring of Old Ironjaw. :D

    Ok, I must have a new record for catching Old Ironjaw - he was my 205th catch in IF. :oD I made sure that I had 3 bags totally empty for fish - didn't even start in on the 2nd bag when i caught him.

    OMG my lucky day....got the one that didn't get away earlier, then did the Zul Gurub one...now just decided to do 100 casts in IF before bed...(almost 4am lol) and 4th cast....OLD IRONJAW!!!!!

    I should add that I got him in the mystic pool not forlorn cavern - all this time he been hiding!

    I have casted about 3000 times for him....off to Ogri now (I'm Alliance!)

    and it took me only 4hours oO and got ganked 4 times (as I am horde). At least I got my fishing skill at max.

    I'm working on Old Ironjaw now. I managed to fish up Old Crafty (Ally here) in a very reasonable amount of time (about 150 casts), and I got my 15lb Mud Snapper in under 500 casts. Now I'm on Ironjaw, and pushing about 350 casts so far - nothing yet.

    Not too bad for one days' work.

    I started fishing in orgrimmar with the intention of fishing all the way to 450 there when I caught Old Crafty in prolly less than a 100 casts and got an achievement for it! So i started checking out the achievements and decided that I'd go for them all, so at 150 fishing skill I went to IF with the intention of getting Old Ironjaw. I equipped my santa gear from xmas so that allies would maybe laugh at me rather than kill me, and it kinda worked. I fished in IF from skill 150-224 (I didn't have a fishing count mod at this time) and just as I was about to get that last skill point and leave to dustwallow marsh, I found Old Ironjaw! woot! Now to get that 15 lb mud snapper ><

    Well I've dinged 450 Fishing today and still no luck.

    But more depressingly I was fishing the last 10 levels next to a guildfriend who did not only catch Ironjaw standing next to me - he caught him twice within 10 casts or so.

    I caught Ironjaw on one char in the Forlorn Caverns, on another char in the Mystic Pool, and on my horde character in the Great Forge (yeah, he spawns IN the lava as well). Altogether about 5k casts for 3 Ironjaws.

    Red or green? The last time I went to Orgrimmar to fish I wore the green Winter Clothes and carried only a red rose in the weapon slot and I still got ganked ... How much of a challenge is it to kill a pet-less, disarmed Hunter?

    I created a character to sign some bank guild charters.....

    Decided to go ahead and level him a bit, and of course fish.

    Went to IF to level fishing.....hoping for Old Ironjaw (OIJ)....to 150.

    While fishing I was chatting with some fellow angler, and at 0130 server time I caught OIJ! Kept on fishing, since the goal was 150, and 23 minutes later....got him again. Took some time to post to another thread (I am the bonehead) about getting him twice.

    Back to fishing, and at 0208 server time, caught him for the third time!

    Unfricking believable. Guess he respawns fast on Sunday morning!
