[Fishing] Outland Fishing Daily

    Does anyone know if the fishing daily in Outland locks up (go away) once we train Grand Master Fisherman?

    I haven't trained because I enjoy this daily. Can you please let me know? Thanks.

    No it doesn't. My mage has 450 fishing skill and I still do the Outland daily.

    Although I've been really unlucky with getting the baby crockolisk.

    Do those just come as rewards from the "Crockolisks in the City" daily, or can any of them have it as a reward?

    The pet crocolisk comes only from the "Crocolisks in the City" quest. And you're not unlucky... These are just extremely rare: approx. 5% as a reward from Crocolisks in the City, but that quest only becomes available every few days.

    Well, it depends. Assuming a probability of 1/5 for the Crocolisks in the City quest to even become available, then your probability of getting the Crocolisk pet on *any given day*, that is, before even looking at what the quest is, is then 1/100.

    At the rate of 1 quest/day, that can still take a heck of a long time. There's every chance that you'll have run this six 4 months (approx. 122 tries) without success.

    Anyone remember the formula to calculate average length of time to get a result based on a 1/n probability?

    No,but neither does Blizzard RNG it seems...unless the answer is +/- infinity ;)
    I've been doing the fishing dailies since the first day I made my way to shatt,and despite several ornate drinking steins,gold wedding bands,antique cufflinks,and even a noble's monocle (my bank alt is drowning in bling lol),I've not seen hide nor hair of a hat or a baby croc :(

    Sold my last monacle for 55g on the AH...still trying to get that epic flyier for my DK. 3500g and counting, ~1700 to go.

    I've been doing the daily for about 3 months now and have managed to get the Eye of the Sea, Spun Truesilver Fishing Line and the Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat. No pets, recipes or rings though. I've also been fortunate enough to get three Mr. Pinchys and two of his pets.

    Well wouldn't you know it, I got Chuck's Bucket tonight.

    I had originally been doing the fishing daily with my druid, then switched to my mage while leveling him. Rather than keeping my druid idle, I should have continued to do the daily to increase my chances of getting a good drop. So tonight I decided to start doing just that. I unparked my druid, did Crocolisks in the City, and got the pet. Talk about luck...

    It's nice to know that there are other items to look forward in those rewards :)

    Click here [link corrected] then scroll to the bottom. There are many other rewards you can get, and the chance at the 2 ring makes it worth doing on days that end in "y" as opposed to only doing the crocolisks quest.

    Been checking the quest from time to time just to do the Croc quest lately , no luck but I have gotten both the hat , recepies and 3 spun lines + the eye of the sea and countless of those grey items,

    No croc tho , bad luck as usual , but it will be mine!
