ok so i got to stv today with 40 fish and ready to hand in quest seeing that i had won and a tauren running up behind me i quickly clicked the prize and accepted. i ended up with the trinket, the thing is i really wanted the fishing rod is there any way to swap the rod for this trinket?

You may input a ticket to a Game Master (GM) via the red question mark in your action bars.
Notify him of the mistake, and he MAY help you out. Eitherway, just keep on doing the contest until you get both the Rod and the Trinket : ) And even TWO trinkets.
A fisherman's outfit needs a lot of tweaking, and when you're Inspected, try to look as ''fishy'' as possible !

Heh, when I won, the trinket is what I wanted. Personally, I've enjoyed it way more than I imagine I would have enjoyed the fishing pole - but I'm not overly focused on having the max fishing skill, just a sufficient one.
