[Fishing] Pool etiquette

When I come across someone already fishing a pool or fighting a mob to get access to a pool, I've always left the pool alone. I think most others do as well. Does the same courtesy apply if the person is from the opposing faction?

I'm thinking of trying the Stranglethorn Extravaganze this weekend - do the same rules of pool etiquette apply there as well?

Having won the fishing tournament multiple times, I can safely say that the answer is "no". During the fishing tournament, I've seen nothing resembling pool etiquette. People will fish the same pool as you and I have fished outta pools that other people are fishing as well. I've also seen "fishing parties" where a (usually) level 70 character will escort a much lower character (twink, alt, whatever you want to call them) around in order to kill the monsters that inevitably try to kill them, pretend to fish in pools in order to discourage other people from fishing there and (my favorite) jump up in down in front of your fishing bobber in order to make you "miss" right clicking on it when it splashes.

Generally, I have no qualms fishing in a pool that only one other person is fishing. If there is 2 or more, though, I generally just move on; Not to be polite, but simply to avoid having the pool disappear before I pull a fish out. (Remember, your fish / catch is determined when the bobber is clicked, not when you cast your line). Good luck in the fishing tourny. And leave that fishing etiquette at home during the contest; those goblins don't care how you get the speckled tastyfish just as long as you get to him first. :)

Actuly, i think ur wrong. several times i have run into a school of that. others have ben fishing out of, and iwe tried to make a cast several times, AND! even though the school disapears before i pull the fish up, i still get a tastyfish. Not sure if this has ben fixed in maybe a new patch, but it has always ben like this for me. trow the line, land in the school, school disapear, fish gotten. :3

Hmm, that's the opposite of my experience; if the pool disappears, waiting for your bobber to splash isn't worth it. Although, I haven't been fishing the contest for at least 6 months.

    Can anyone else confirm/deny this?

From my experience, if there is no pool you can't get a fish from it and first bobber to pop gets the fish as well.
No etiquette in the extravaganza either be warned.

Confirmed: No, getting a fish from a school after it disapears and u DID have ur lure in the school, u wont get a fish after. . . Me and my friends did actuly get fishes before after the school disapears, but i gues it has ben changed in a patch or so... :3
