   Is there any particular type of lure, that makes it easier to catch the rat, or a certain fishing pole?

   Nope.

   Having a cumulative skill at 525 or better keeps you from fishing up junk, though.

   Exactly. Just like the Sea Turtle, random number generator comes up trumps for you means you'll land the Sewer Rat together with another normal fish (I believe) on your cast.

   And, it's purely random on a *sucessful* (i.e. non junk) landing of a fish
