I recently hosted my first RP fishing trip for my guild. It was a short outing to Theramore Docks, with our time spent between fishing, comparing who got the biggest piece of driftwood, cooking and sharing scary fishy stories over a campfire. I was reading from my "Dastardly Denizens of the Deep" handbook and we even had a suprise visit from Tethyr as the evening drew to a close to back up my "story". The feedback I got was really encouraging, people have already started asking when we'll be heading off again.
Now I'm thinking towards the next trip .... and I'd love to ask the fishing community for some input.
What are your favourite fishing locations and why? (for reasons like scenery, access, or lore - Frostfire Hotsprings in Winterspring was one suggestion I've recieved already for example)
Are there more fishy or sea-faring quest lines ingame like Theramore's Tethyr?
Apart from creating my own fishy stories, is there a good place to find tales of sea monsters or elusive fish?
While I enjoy fishing myself, I'm still new to role-playing and hosting events. I'm hoping to make the trips enjoyable for both the experienced and new fishers in our guild, showing them new (or old) places from a fishing point of view, entertaining them with stories and trying to encourage the social side of fishing.
