[Fishing] SALTY!

    I got it a few days ago. Would have had it on the 14th but I still needed "One that didn't get away". Fished for like 6 hours with no luck one night, then about a day later, I had 7 minutes left on my hearthstone in SW so decided to kill that time fishing. Got the 15 pound mud snapper on the cast RIGHT as my hearthstone cooldown came up.

    Achieved "Salty" on Blackwing Lair (US) around 1am E.S.T. Saturday morning. Last coin to do the trick was Sylvanas' Gold Coin. A little curious to see others data on last coin to get coinmaster by the way. Still need my pet rat, Ol' Ironjaw and the hat from the fishing daily.

    Just got the Rock-Hide Strongfish during the tourney.....was actually there to get the eternium line for the epic pole when i get it but as luck would have it.....just need the pools in Northrend now.....flying there as i type for SALTY.....

    I'm at the tourney today to get another Eternium line for the Kalu'ak fishing pole. (I'll be exhalted in 5 days)
    It'd be nice to get a Rockhide while I'm at it. Everything else is done, so as soon as I catch one of those fish I'll also complete Accomplished Angler.

    EDIT: I got lucky with the Queenfish but no luck on the one that didn't get away.
    It's Back to the Fjord to fill my bags with Herring,

    Just to clarify:

    "Salty" title has no Feat of Strength associated with being the first. The only fishing-related Realm First that others would have been able to see broadcasted is the first fisher to 450.

    I could see wanting the title to be different, but not for the reasons stated (not to say they don't have some validity). Yes, some folks will probably make fun of the title, but - meh, I'd hate to limit titles based on that, as most things with the vaguest connotations will be made fun of.

    Salty is a perfectly valid term. My main problem is that is probably has more to do with sailing (and being an old salt) than with fishing per se.

    Come to think of it, perhaps "Old Salt" would have been better than "Salty".

    i got mr. pinchy in the 15 mins y just started fishing in Skettis...
    i have won saveral times the fishing Stravaganza
    the 1 ring is in my bank xD

    but I believe that "the one that didn't get away" is by far the most dificult archievement for an angler.
    i think that it really tests your determination, so i'm gonna just keep trying, maybe tomorrow i will fish the dark herring...at least i'm getting good money in the way by selling Pygmy Suckerfish ^^U

    I am now known as Salty Alarissa on the Bloodhoof-US server. Got it fishing up a Dark Herring from a Fangtooth Herring Pool in Howling Fjord. All I have left is to finally catch Old Ironjaw and start working on my Sewer Rat.

    I too though, kind of wish the title was something other than Salty. I'm also a female gamer, and while my guildmates have kept the teasing to a minimum so far, I can only imagine how merciless some friends are going to be. But yes, it is better than Master Baiter. Still so excited that all the dedication I put into catching it (1436 casts) finally paid off.

    Finally I got the Coin Master - it took me a total of 1855 casts.
    The icing on the cake was of course i got the Salty title at the same time.

    got it tonight caught the dark herring my catches wer as follows

    dark herring x82
    cratesx5
    pigmyfishx1
    bonescale about 5-10 i dont have a mod

    so yeh i think the verdict is in on tis one the dark herring is deffinately the go

    also i fished near the taunka village in fjord due to the fact that the pools spawn faster than u can fish

    so Salty Cuttaugood reporting for duty

    The only thing exciting about my title is that I spent most of my time pre-expansion looking for Mr Pinchy. I had to catch him twice and got my 2nd catch a mere 12 hours before the midnight release, or an hour before I had to go to work until time for the release -- Crawdad Box was 1st wish. Talk about last minute!

    Now I gotta get the elusive 3 -- Crafty, Ironjaw & Filthy Rat -- at least I still have a few things left to do ^_^
