    I just wanted to say to everyone who has salty congrats. Its a real testament to your fishing and really cool title to boot! To those who don't have it....keep trying, as any experienced fisherman will tell you fishing rewards always seem well worth the time and effort!

    Finally became Salty Utopia tonight(no sniggering :P), hadn't worried about doing Lurker or Gahz'ranka till I won the fishing comp,which I did at last manage today :D

    *Glares* The RNG really does like some people.
    I've had all the requirements for the title done for months.
    All but Master and deadliest done by April 09, did deadliest Aug 09.
    The only bit I need is to win one 1 of the 2 comps. And i've not been close yet.

    Side note: With ZG gone does that mean this meta will be changing?

    Augh... those 5000 cast is also with farming for the turtle mount which he has(at lvl 35) + strandcrawler and the fat rat ;) For dark herring I just fished in open water..before I was able to quest in northrend..

    so tbh.. i prolly did it in 3000 cast or less...... love and love... hmmm I fished before I even started playin wow on my brothers account in classic..... so for me its a potion of luck and KNOWLEDGE + time....and last but not least ELSANGLIN.COM simply just rocks the socks of any fisherman/woman with its extensive database and people addin their knowledge.

    It took me a thousand casts to get my Annuin Wrynn's Gold Coin, but I did, and so I got Salty.

    but first.. i want ironjaw.
    and, i know it isnt needed for salty, its just something i'd really want.

    Level 61 DK, and fishing in Ironforge now. had 250 casts so far, and no luck yet.
    I guess i've already used all my luck.
    Got a sewer rat while fishing for gold a few days ago.

    when the dobber lands too close to the edges of the fountain
    (like when its half in the stone) you get a drop from the sewers.
    and thats how i got my rat.

    Crappy is that i got another one as soon as i started fishing in the sewers to get 2 fishing levels. so, what to do with a second sewer rat? :)

    Salty from the first achievement to the last took me exactly a month and around 5000 fish and other things caught, was a tedious month but in that time I was able to also get the turtle and win both fishing tournaments. I got the rat and old crafty shortly after and am now working old ironjaw and the rest of the crocodiles, but with the brewfest ram barker daily it makes it difficult to not get noticed in Ironforge. I must say this site was perfect from start to finish answering all my questions I had along the way, way to go El for creating it and all the posters with very informative posts, thanks to everyone and good luck to all.
