[Fishing] Sea Turtle Mount; Pools of Fire; Open Waters.

    I have seen a post or two claiming the Sea Turtle mount can be caught in open waters. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

    I understand the achievement states pool, but it also states Northrend and that has obviously been changed. Since they can't change achievements clientside, it will take until next patch to see if the word pool is taken out.

    Also, can anyone confirm or deny the ability to fish the Sea Turtle mount up in the Pools of Fire in Mount Hyjal and Twilight Highlands?

    Just trying to figure out the best ways/places to fish for this with the changes that have been made.

    I have been making a killing off open-water relaxtion fishing, and I've fished atleast 10k+ casts. So I can pretty much confirm sea turtle does not drop in open water.

    That is no confirmation.
    Some people have taken 20k+ casts in pools to get it.
    It"s RNG.

    I'm looking more for someone who has maybe talked to a GM or read a blue post I missed or something along those lines.

    I understand but I already knew that. Which is why I made this post to look for confirmation.

    First up I am not sure why you are asking anyone here to deny this or that statement because it is impossible. Only Blizzard can say that in an official post. GM sadly are quite often wrong in their information.

    Any occurrences in open water are almost certainly due to a bug, like at the time of the Shattering there were a few oddities. I would simply say that if you were to fish in open water in the hope of catching the Sea Turtle, GL.

    I have not seen any post here of a Turtle from the pools of fire but that doesn't mean it's not possible in fact the opposite as they function as pools so logically they should.

    And to bring you up to date on the Northrend only Achievement text, it is changing to reflect the reality. From the latest PTR:

    obviously i would have more faith it was myself, but I was literally on vent talking to a good friend of mine who i trust who caught the turtle in open water (with sharptooth) in uldum.....

    Actually, anyone who has had experience with it can confirm or deny, hence me asking. While I won't believe if there are a handful of posts, I would believe it if this thread had maybe been flooded with posts or maybe some screenshots confirming something.

    Since I have gotten neither, I'll just go with fishing in pools.

    And with the Pools of Fire, yes logically they should. But Blizz doesn't work on logic a lot of the time. So again, I'm looking for someone (or some people) who this has happened to in order to not waste my time fishing in them and to just know for future reference/fishing on alts.

    In what way can a player 'deny' or prove it is impossible, whatever experience they have?
