Was talking with a friend last night and came to this conclusion.
Since the new epic fishing pole is only +30 fishing, shouldn't the Arcanite Pole be epic now? Especially with all the fuss over how difficult winning the STV competition is, maybe the classic Arcanite Pole could use a purple font change and hell, maybe even a graphical update to make it look like something other than a basic fishing pole.
Ideas? Thoughts?
at this point i dont think its worth changing. the colour of the item doesnt change its "epicness" however if there was a change id like to see one of the fishing rods give a water walking ability
Nah, I say leave it be.
Any good Fisherman knows it's the best available. We don't need a color purple to make us feel better about it.
In fact, watching others with an easily grindable purple makes me feel better about my old-school blue =)
the epicness of the new pole is determined by the fact that it's a lvl 70 with 186.2 dps or whatever as well as water breathing rather than just plus fishing.
and if item level was in fact to be judged by rarity, why stop at epic? surely the arcanite pole should be LEGENDARY by this logic?

totally agree on this one.....
but also i think there needs to be a water walking enchant for pole or something like that,not easy to get,only for the most hardcore fishers....

This is a big reason why I only fish on my Priest and Shaman - with the new minor glyphs my levitate/water walking do not require reagents. :)

Then if you get em both (like i have =P) then u can get a fishing boat that holds 42 people (yes 42 wtf is wrong with 42 people?!?!?) and goes 170% on water and u can fish off of it xD
And if u cant tell by now <3 the Ashbringer and fishing >.<

nah you would have to kill Illidan with all fishing poles (for your whole raid)
